Step 1: Find Your Elden Ring Installation Folder
- Open Steam (the blue icon on your desktop or Start menu)
- Right-click on Elden Ring in your Steam library (left side list of games)
- Select "Properties" from the menu that appears
- Click the "Local Files" tab at the top
- Click "Browse Local Files" - this opens the game folder
- Keep this folder window open
Step 2: Create the Steam App ID File

In the same folder where you found eldenring.exe:

Right-click on an empty space (not on any file)

Select "New" → "Text Document"

Name the file exactly:
steam_appid.txt- Important: Make sure it ends with
.txt, not.txt.txt - If you can't see file extensions, don't worry - just name it
steam_appid

Double-click the file to open it

Type exactly:
1245620 -
Save the file (Ctrl+S or File → Save)

Close the text editor
Step 3: Launch the Game Properly
Important: Always Do This in Order
- Navigate back to your Elden Ring folder (where eldenring.exe is)
- Double-click on eldenring.exe to start the game directly
- Wait for the game to fully load to the main menu
- Click Play
