3 day free trial charging me

so like i wanted to try the free trial cuz i js wanted a mod save file of palworld to see the game and how it is (it doesnt have a creative or commands for whatever reason) cuz i got the xbox pc game pass and i js wanted to see if i wanted to get it on steam and the 3 hr limit got rly annoying so i decided to try the trial, keyword FREE trial and it still charges me? i dont understand that
