#Baldur's Gate 3 mods won't toggle

Maybe I am doing something wrong but at least some features won't toggle with Baldur's Gate 3.
Specifically tried turning on Roll Dice Always Succeed, which doesn't even toggle on, Ignore Weight also seems to not do anything, I didn't try anything else, I just wanted to activate the roll dice for one section.
I realize there was a fairly recent patch to the game, maybe it's just not functioning still since?

I play on Steam
No mods installed in the game.
In singleplayer

A thing I noticed, the game doesn't launch when I press play on WeMod, obviously I open the launcher first, but then pressing "play" in WeMod doesn't open the game, I still have to press play in the launcher myself but WeMod says "playing".

you start the game then the mods.
