hey float, we are aware of certain AV companies flagging it, You will need to whitelist the specific files mentioned below:
- Update.exe, located in
C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Local\WeMod - WeMod.exe, located in
C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Local\WeMod - WeModAuxiliaryService.exe, located in
C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Local\WeMod\app-VERSION_NUMBER\resources\app.asar.unpacked\static\unpacked\auxiliary
now just refusing to install
Please follow these steps.
- Uninstall WeMod
- Use Add or Remove Programs in your system settings or Control Panel.
- Delete leftover folders
- Go to the following locations and delete them if they exist:
C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\WeModC:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Roaming\WeMod
- Go to the following locations and delete them if they exist:
Then restart your pc
-
Temporarily disable your antivirus, including Windows Defender
-
Download and install WeMod using the offline installer:
https://api.wemod.com/client/download -
Before launching WeMod, add the following folders to your antivirus exceptions:
C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\WeModC:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Roaming\WeMod
If your antivirus doesn’t allow whitelisting entire folders, then add these individual files instead:
Update.exe
C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\WeModWeMod.exe
C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\WeModWeModAuxiliaryService.exe
C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\WeMod\app-VERSION_NUMBER\resources\app.asar.unpacked\static\unpacked\auxiliary
-
Still not working?
- Open your antivirus program.
- Check the quarantine (or Virus Chest).
- If any WeMod files are there, whitelist and restore them even if you already set exceptions.

Sorry, I was trying to let them know how to fix it. Once you clear Norton and restart, then reinstall will work. But must be deleted from quarantine file.
