Title: Severe Lag Issues with WeMod After PC Upgrade

Content:

Hello everyone,

I've been using WeMod Premium for a few years without any issues on my previous setup:

  • CPU: Intel i9-9900KS
  • RAM: 32GB DDR4
  • GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3080

Recently, I upgraded my PC with the following components:

  • CPU: Ryzen 9800X3D
  • RAM: 32GB DDR5
  • Storage: NVMe PCIe 4.0 drives
  • GPU: Same NVIDIA RTX 3080
  • OS: Fresh installation of Windows

Since the upgrade, I've been experiencing severe lag issues when using WeMod. The games run smoothly until I start WeMod, and then the following problems occur:

  • Pressing the W key results in no immediate action; after a 1-5 second delay, the character starts moving and sometimes gets stuck in autorun.
  • Releasing W or pressing A or D doesn't respond correctly; the character may strafe instead of turning.
  • Pressing S stops the character, but upon releasing, the character might continue moving forward, move in reverse, or stand still.
  • These issues are consistent and repeat themselves.
  • The problem occurs in games like Avatar: Frontiers and Horizon Forbidden West.

If I use Task Manager to terminate all WeMod-related processes, the games function properly again. Restarting WeMod brings back the issues.

Does anyone know what might be causing this? Any suggestions or solutions would be greatly appreciated.

  1. Disable Overlays: If any overlays (e.g., GeForce Experience, Steam, Discord) are running, disable them to rule out conflicts.

  2. Check for Background Apps: Some background applications or monitoring software could interfere with WeMod. Temporarily disable antivirus, performance monitoring, or RGB control software.

  3. Update Drivers & Firmware: Ensure all drivers, including chipset, GPU, and storage, are up to date. Consider updating the motherboard’s BIOS as well.

  4. Run WeMod in Compatibility Mode:
    • Right-click on the WeMod shortcut > Properties > Compatibility tab.
    • Set it to run in compatibility mode for Windows 10 and check Run as administrator.

  5. Try Disabling Hardware Acceleration:
    • Use the launch argument: --disable-gpu

• Example: `C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\WeMod\WeMod.exe" --disable-gpu`
  1. Reinstall WeMod: Completely uninstall and reinstall WeMod to ensure no corrupted files are causing the lag.
