I can't get the overlay to connect despite reinstalling WeMod, Xbox game bar, and the overlay itself multiple times.

hey there. Sorry, I have a lot of questions. Are you seeing any error messages? If so, could you send a screenshot? Or are you referring to the WeMod Remote app? Also, could you let me know if you're using the Beta or Stable version of the WeMod app?

Not the remote app. I have tried both beta and stable versions

#

no error it simply acts as if there is no game running even when launched directly by wemod

#

Currently trying the beta version due to a seperate issue involving the app flickering badly

Anyone have an idea?

Did you encounter the overlay issue in both the stable and beta versions? Also, you mentioned the app is flickering, was that happening in the stable version as well?

sturdy parcel
#

Yes both issues happen in both versions. The flickering is new, but the overlay has been an issue for quite some time.

#

The flickering stops if I run the app with the "--disable-gpu" argument but this is not a solution that I am happy with.

Sorry for the inconvenience. We're currently looking into this. I'll get back to you as soon as I hear from the team.

I'd really like to get the overlay working. It's not exactly critical since I can use the app, but there are times it would be far more convenient.

We’re still looking into the issue. While it’s not critical for the app’s functionality, we’ll continue to investigate and keep you updated on any progress. We appreciate your understanding in the meantime.

I have tried multiple games. Most recently I have been playing Death Stranding directors cut.

Hi, we received feedback from the team and noted that the overlay in the image is the classic version from Gamebar. Can you please confirm if you're using this version or the new overlay that shows up with Alt+W in-game? Thanks!

I was using the gamebar version as I had not yet been notified there was a different version. After an update today the new version notification came up. The new Alt+W overlay seems to be working as intended. Thank you for helping with this.

Now if I can get the flickering under control without disabling GPU I would have no complaints.

Apologies for the delayed reply, I did not get a notification of your reply and have been busy with other matters.

Hello! No worries! Regarding the flickering issue, if you have time, could you please try the following steps? Just make sure to remove the '--disable-gpu' argument before doing so.

Z_M7MSA_PinkArrowBullet Open the Nvidia Control Panel:
You can usually do this by right-clicking on your desktop and selecting it from the context menu.
Z_M7MSA_PinkArrowBulletNavigate to 3D Settings:
In the left sidebar of the control panel, look for "3D Settings" and click on it.
Z_M7MSA_PinkArrowBulletGo to Program Settings:
Under "3D Settings," you'll see a tab labeled "Program Settings" on the right-hand side. Click on this tab.
Z_M7MSA_PinkArrowBulletSelect the Affected Application:
In the dropdown menu under "Select a program to customize," find and select WeMod.

Modify CUDA-GPUs Setting:
Z_M7MSA_PinkArrowBulletLocate the "CUDA - GPUs" setting in the list of customizable settings below.
Z_M7MSA_PinkArrowBulletClick on the dropdown menu next to it. It likely shows your current GPU as the selected GPU.
Z_M7MSA_PinkArrowBulletChange the selection to "Use these GPUs:"

Important: If your currrent GPU is the only GPU listed under "Use these GPUs:", do not select it. This will effectively set the CUDA - GPUs setting to "None."

Z_M7MSA_PinkArrowBulletApply the Changes: Click the "Apply" button at the bottom right of the Nvidia Control Panel to save your changes.
Z_M7MSA_PinkArrowBulletTest the Application: Launch the WeMod app and check if the issue is resolved.

My GPU is the only one listed in the CUDA - GPUs menu

#

Making the change anyway did not improve the flickering and I reverted back to global settings

#

Just to be perfectly clear in case it wasn't obvious before, this is a new issue that I did not experience until recently despite having used wemod for quite a while

Windows 10, Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080, and I use either a Dualshock 4, xbox controller, or mouse and keyboard depending on the game.

Are you still experiencing the flickering issue, regardless of whether the controller is connected?

sturdy parcel
#

Yes it doesn't seem to make any difference. I often don't connect the controller until I am about to launch the game

The flickering issue is ongoing, but the original issue of the overlay has been solved. Should I make a new thread or simply continue this one?

devout owl

We can continue with this one. Sorry for the inconvenience; we're still looking into it.

Every update removes the command line argument from the desktop shortcut, but I have not seen an improvement in the flickering.

Another user reported it is caused by dualshock controllers. As we are unable to reproduce the error we are unable to release a fix for it at this time. Sorry for the inconvenience.
