This applies to any game I have this issue on but presently is Planet Zoo. Hasn't been updated since 2023 and there are parts of it that aren't working but it's not in the queue so I can't use my 600+ boosts on it. And it doesn't have the "suggest a mod" button in the info box like other games do so I can't go that route either.
Any ideas?

Hey Aideya! Thanks for reaching out about your concerns, Is your game pirated or do you own it on steam? Also are you using any other mods with the game like UI changes or addons?

Sorry I missed my notifications! Yes I am BUT I've been able to reliably replicate and somewhat isolate the issue. Gimme one sec to type it up...
So I can confirm this happens on every career scenario. At least extrapolating from the 5 in a row I've done now. However, it seems to be related to a fresh scenario. Start a new career save and try to use one of the first two mods (adding money or points) straight away and it will crash.
I'm still working on exactly what I need to do to get past the crash but I THINK it's one of the following:
