I had WeMod and it was working up until a little over two months ago. I have tried removing all of the AppData folder and reinstalling it after restarting and none of that is working for me. I don't know what else to do to get this to work. I can download Manually after deleting folders and it still won't work. Any help would be great. I have whitelisted it as well through anti-virus.

Also, when clicking open setup log nothing opens up.

Hey there, please try to find and remove any WeMod-related files from your PC. Also, delete WeMod from the AppData directory and Squirrel from the temp folder. You can also try to delete the app via Control Panel. Then, restart your computer and attempt to reinstall.

Download and install the WeMod offline installer: https://api.wemod.com/client/download

Then try running the installer as an administrator to give it the necessary permissions. See if it helps.

I see. Try to follow these steps instead:

  • Try to initiate the Run dialog on your PC by using the keyboard shortcut WIN + R.
-You should see a window will appear.
-In this window, enter appdata and click the OK button.
-Then verify the presence of a folder labeled "Squirreltemp" within the "appdata > local" directory.
-If you do locate a folder named "Squirreltemp," kindly proceed to delete it.
-Ensure that you only remove the "Squirreltemp" folder and avoid deleting any other files or directories.
-Make sure to restart your PC Proceed to reinstall WeMod.

Restart your PC
Now, proceed to reinstall WeMod.

Download WeMod’s offline installer from this direct link: https://api.wemod.com/client/download

Then try running the installer as an administrator to give it the necessary permissions. See if it helps.

This is what pops up when I do that

#

I have the basic windows defender on my computer no other anti-virus.

#

I have already allowed the folders through

#

Is there an older version that I can download and then see if it will update afterwards?

#

This all started after it updated at one point.

HmmJust to make sure that we are on the same page, have you tried to delete these files C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\WeMod
C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Roaming\WeMod?

Turn off your antivirus programs. Even if it’s just the default Windows Defender.

Download WeMod’s offline installer from this direct link: https://api.wemod.com/client/download 6.5k. Install the software.

Before you launch WeMod, add it as an exception in your antivirus software. You may need to whitelist these specific files if you cannot whitelist the entire folder:

Update.exe, found in the folder located at C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Local\WeMod
WeMod.exe, found in C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Local\WeMod
WeModAuxiliaryService.exe, found in C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Local\WeMod\app-VERSION_NUMBER\resources\app.asar.unpacked\static\unpacked\auxiliary

I apologize for the hassle! Have you tried checking your Task Manager to ensure that all WeMod processes are closed before deleting and reinstalling the app?
If so, please follow the steps below.

  1. Close WeMod and launch task manager.
  2. If you haven’t already, expand the task manager window by clicking More Details
  3. Scroll down to the heading labelled Background Processes
  4. Search for all instances of WeMod under this Background Procecesses header. Right-click them and choose End Task
  5. When WeMod is no longer shown, close task manager and re-launch WeMod again.

If that doesn’t work, you might need to uninstall the WeMod App via Control Panel and install it by using this link : [https://api.wemod.com/client/download ]

I guess this just isn't going to work on my PC. Sorry for wasting your time as none of this is working. This is the actual definition of crazy. Trying the same thing over and over expecting a different result. I appreciate your assistance, but for whatever reason this just won't run on my PC. Maybe after a future update I will come back and try again. Thank you for your time.
