If you’re experiencing issues with WeMod, your antivirus software might be interfering. To resolve this, try whitelisting or adding exceptions for the following folders:
- C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\WeMod

  • C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\WeMod

WeMod may not launch properly if there's any interference from security programs on your computer.

You can follow the steps below:

  1. Uninstall WeMod via the Add Or Remove Programs feature found in settings/control panel.

  2. Navigate to these two places and, if these folders still exist on your PC, delete them:
    C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\WeMod
    C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Roaming\WeMod

  3. Download WeMod’s offline installer from this direct link: https://api.wemod.com/client/download 6.3k. Install the software.

  4. Before you launch WeMod, add it as an exception in your antivirus software. You may need to whitelist these specific files if you cannot whitelist the entire folder:

Update.exe, found in the folder located at C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Local\WeMod
WeMod.exe, found in C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Local\WeMod
WeModAuxiliaryService.exe, found in C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Local\WeMod\app-VERSION_NUMBER\resources\app.asar.unpacked\static\unpacked\auxiliary

If you havent already, you can try the following and see if it makes a difference.

  • Try to initiate the Run dialog on your PC by using the keyboard shortcut WIN + R.
*You should see a window will appear.
*In this window, enter "appdata" and click the "OK" button.
*Then verify the presence of a folder labeled "Squirreltemp" within the "appdata > local" directory.
*If you do locate a folder named "Squirreltemp," kindly proceed to delete it.
*Make sure that you only remove the "Squirreltemp" folder and avoid deleting any other files or directories.
    Restart your PC
    Now, proceed to reinstall WeMod.
