Is this not a problem, it just seems high is all, I don’t see that when I play any other game normally it’s around 5%
??
Are you using integrated graphics? or are your monitors plugged into your gpu?
My monitor is plugged in the gpu
I started noticing the high utilisation in elden rings most recent update
I mainly wanna know if it’s normal or not cuz I just don’t remember the cpu usage being this high before
Press Win + R then copy and paste this and press enter
C:\Users%username%\AppData\Local\WeMod\wemod.exe --disable-gpu
Try that and see if it makes any difference.
i got an installation error
on what?
It is 😭
Are you opening the installer?
I don’t know if I have it in a different folder
If that’s the case I don’t know which
Now I got this
if these steps i provide you next don't work then there is something funky going on with your PC thats causing these issues.
The troubleshooting below is for those getting these error messages or similar:
There was an error installing the application.
Failed to extract installer.
Please follow these steps:
Uninstall WeMod via the Add Or Remove Programs feature found in settings/control panel.
Navigate to these two places and, if these folders still exist on your PC, delete them:
C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\WeMod
C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Local\SquirrelTemp
C:\Users\Your_Name\AppData\Roaming\WeMod
Restart your PC
Turn off your antivirus programs. Even if it’s just the default Windows Defender.
Download WeMod’s offline installer from this direct link: https://api.wemod.com/client/download Install the software.
Before you launch WeMod, add it as an exception in your antivirus software.
Update.exe, found in the folder located at
C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Local\WeMod
WeMod.exe, found in C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Local\WeMod
WeModAuxiliaryService.exe, found in C:\Users\YOUR_NAME\AppData\Local\WeMod\app-VERSION_NUMBER\resources\app.asar.unpacked\static\unpacked\auxiliary
If the issue continues after correctly doing the above steps:
Open your antivirus program, even if it’s just the default Windows Defender.
Go to the quarantine menu (alternatively known as the Virus Chest in some programs).
Look for any WeMod files in there that were quarantined despite it being added as an exception. Whitelist and de-quarantine them from here.
I just finished this and annoyingly still the same
It switches from like 18% or sometimes higher than 25%
On other games it’s completely fine only Elden ring it gets this high
It’s not messing with my performance on the game not from what I noticed but it has me worried if that’s to high for my cpu
Sorry to leave you hanging. If you haven't noticed any performance issues despite it using a bit more, I wouldn't worry about it. The team is aware and investigating. Thank you!
I did leave another forum thing, but I think I may have figured out the issue
I think it had something to do with the window being on borderless cuz when I changed to full screen the cpu usage went down to around 3-5% which is normal for me
If that makes sense
nvm i tried again today its still quite bad
But Yh I just wasn’t sure if the high cpu usage will break my pc or smth
I’m a bit paranoid for that incase it does but most answers I get is that the cpu can handle it
Hey @sleek hamlet can you update your app and try again. Let us know if you are still experiencing the issue.
Hi I just saw this msg, but yh I’ll try it out in a bit, and I’ll let you know if it’s still the same or not
it looks like its working very well in fact now
After playing for a while it’s definitely fixed there’s no progression of the cpu usage after playing for some time either so I think it’s sorted. thank you
