#Should weapons have multiple damage types?

I dunno if the game needs to have further complexity in its current state, but I could see certain attacks having different damage types making sense. For example:

Most swords could deal cut for slash and overhead, while stabbing with them could instead do chop damage. Justification for that would be that a sword thrust would focus more weight around a smaller surface area, which has a better chance at penetrating armor. Meanwhile, stabbing with an axe or mace would instead do cut damage, since these weapons were clearly not meant for thrusting attacks, and the resulting blunt force trauma would be ineffectual against one's body armor.

Don't think it'd really needed.

Throwing Axe should do all types

I think longsword stab doesn't need to be buffed

it'd be cool for things like poleaxe special or longsword special which both flip the weapon.

An unneccessary pander to "Realism" that over-complicates a simple arcade game.

On one hand, this would be a bit complicated for a simple arcade game. On the otherhand, it could give more versatility to certain weapons.

Speaking of damage types. I think instead of cut, chop, and blunt, it should be slash, pierce, and blunt.

Slash damage being the most common, but deals reduced damage to knights and footmen.
Piercing is primarily done by missiles, but also by certain weapons like the spear or rapier. Damage reduction is reduced when aiming for the head or back.
Blunt deals full damage to knights and footmen, but often suffers from some other drawback such as slow speed or poor damage to begin with.

Also, weapon info boxes already list things like damage amount and swing speed in their bars. I think details like reduced release and increased recovery should be discovered through trial and error. This space could be used to give certain weapons different attributes. Examples would be:
Rapier
-Ignores damage reduction by knights and MaA
Longsword
-Special attack converts damage to blunt.
ect, ect.
