I just wanted to give a proper fairwell to the weapon that was the point of so much controversy over the past few months. It got nerfed to oblivion this update and some people might say rightfully so. It went from 85 heavy slash damage to 70. Same as the greatsword but way slower and no damage bonuses. Highland is pretty much useless now in terms of damage and speed it's just not worth it. I actually thought it was in a pretty good spot, if they nerfed the damage a little from 85 to 80 it would have been perfect. Maybe they can buff it again in a future patch to make it somewhat worth it but for now I don't think anyone will be using it.
I think we will see other weapons like the executioners axe make a comeback. The OG highland sword that they were going to nerf a while back until there was backlash from the community. 70 base damage for heavy slash plus 17.5% and 25% bonuses against knight and footman. Great drags but not great at duels. Weak overheads compared to the greatsword but all around great crowd control weapon. Me personally I've been using this weapon a lot lately. With all the game pass players it's perfect for farming tons of kills with pretty minimal effort.
