My overhaul UI is almost completed! It is heavily inspired by Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter games and alikes! 🙂

Everything has been converted to BLP format for optimization. An interesting fact is that UI panels have been generated with DALL-E AI and modded using various tools. The UI uses ElvUI also has a backbone for many elements and clean layout.

I still have a few items on my bucket list to call this completed but if you have any suggestions or cool stuff I could add, I very open to suggestions.
That said, it is extremely fun to play overall.

See the links below for two short clip the demonstrates the various WAs and interface panels in action.

Notable WA and UI Elements:

  • I animated the joystick to move when I change stance (That part is sill a work in progress)..
  • Main DPS CDs are the buttons next to the joystick
  • Flawless Victory = Victory Rush
  • Finish Him = Execute Phase
  • Toastie = Sudden Death Procs
  • Friendship = Intimidating shout
  • Hall of Fame = Details Panel (pops out of combat.. see screenshot)
  • Dragon turns red during Enrage procs at the top..
  • All cooldown are tracked via dynamic auras (see the banners on the side)
  • The "Press Start" basically shows up when Wind fury or Wild Strike is missing. It's a bit intrusive so I plan to have it load only during raid encounters and move/shrink it. Without those buffs, we're basically NPCs so the press start to join button felt like a good visual cue!
  • Mini-map is keybinded to toggle on and off
  • We can't see it in the video but when Wind fury procs, there an arcade style "COMBO" WA that pop at the top
  • The corner of the chat frame lights up to monitor stance dance uptimes

...and much more!

Video uploads fail every times in Discord (No sure why; They are in MP4 and less than 25Mbs), so I reverted to Google Drive!

Thanks for the feekback @mental monolith ! May I ask what is tilting your eyes artistically?

As you said, there was a lot of works involed in the whole project and it's coming a looooong way. A bunches of ideas thrown together with a thematic basically! I really wanted to make the game feel entirely different on the interface side as I have been playing for over 20 years now and needed some changes and I liked the level of challenge that came on top of it.

I have been playing with barless UIs for quite a few years now and I'm really used to it, so most of the UI stuff I do have the action bars hidden( or on mouse-over).

Now that I have been playing the UI for a few days, the joystick and buttons definitely feels odd so I need to find an alternative.

Hey, excuse the delay!

Mmh... maybe, I should have elaborated more. It's not that I find it unappealing, in fact its like an art piece I can find myself appreciating elsewhere, but at the same time, wouldn't want it at home.
As a player, I want my UI to be as minimalistic and clean as it can be. That's just how I like it. Though, I have also been thinking about a more gamified or arcadey look in recent days. Naturally, within the borders of my ULTRALIGHT UI. Which, leads to the problem that both styles rarely match well, and could easily end up looking cheap within those parameters. Unlike yours, where the amount of work and care is palpable.

Don't know about the joystick and buttons, but if they do what they're supposed to do, I'd say they fit perfectly into it stylistically. But as to how you feel you could further refine them, I cannot say.
What I can say, is that the buffs on the top left are absolutely badass, and that this UI should probably be a plug-in like S&L. I'm certain there are plenty who would want their game to look like that, or reminiscent of any other old school game if its plug and play.
