please, explain what are these ports are, what does forwarding mean and how can i do it

#

because now it doesn't make any sense for me

rustic flare
#

you need to go to your router settings

#

and go to the port forwarding section then forward them to your wii

this covers all ports wfc uses

#

iirc

rustic flare
#

#

what do i put as the internal port?

dusky cloak
#

same as external

rustic flare
#

there's only room for one

#

of the 2 ports that external uses

weird router

rustic flare
#

I'll put it as 22000 and see if it works

#

it said invalid port number, I put it as 22999 and it worked, I'll try the games now

#

oh man:( same error, this sux.

#

Wait whattt

#

I put the internal as 1024 and it worked instantly

#

wfc ports are random and can quite literally range from 1-65535

alright i'll try that, also where do you usually get these ports from?

bleak widget
#

wiimmfi says 22000-22999 for mario kart

#

the rest are literally all of the ports 1-65535

rustic flare
#

well mine was on the advanced section

type "port forwarding router name" on google and you'll probably find an answer

eager pawn
rustic flare
#

not sure, i'm not experienced with this stuff, that's why i told you to google it

eager pawn
#

what to type/select here?

rustic flare
#

sorry i was asleep, also I know the external port is the port you're trying to use (??-??), and the internal port is the same, ip adress is the ip adress of your wii, protocol is UDP, but i never seen a "common server" option, i would try using each one and seeing if they work

eager pawn
#

but i didn't tried to put two numbers yet

#

i'll try

eager pawn
#

ok, it let me put two numbers in each field and also it let me save it without selecting that Common server option

#

idk am i just lucky or it actually helped

#

it works

eager pawn
#

worked

#

but again error

#

i'll try later, it might need some time

#

86420 will still happen, just significantly less often with port forwarding and dmz
