So after I installed the new version of the forecast channel from WiiLink. I tried launching it but I'm stuck with the FORE000006 error. I tried reinstalling it and changing the time and date but it did not work. Can someone help me?

Try using sntp if you haven't tried that already.

If you don't know what it is (since many people don't know it apparently), it's an app that synchronizes the Wii clock with internet for the best possible precision

If the time is slightly off it still might not work. The first thing you should try is "sntp"; A homebrew app you can find on Open Shop Channel. It will synchronize to the current time as accurately as possible, you need to manually select the time zone though

#

if that still doesn't work i might know the other cause

#

All right here is what happened: so I just launched the weather channel and it still gave me the error message. However, I'm probably not going to use the SNTP homebrew app because I already have another similar app running within the Wii U menu instead of vWii and I am afraid that if I run both of them it may brick my Wii

#

Because The vWii uses the same time as the Wii U

#

ah I see

#

i just realized what i was going to suggest might not be possible on vwii

#

i don't see why it wouldn't, but i kinda suck with vwii stuff

#

i tried running wiilink on it and failed hard lol

#

but I was gonna suggest deleting the wii message board data, i had to do this and fore0006 was resolved afterwards

#

but you have to make a backup of course!

#

and then restore it

short flame
#

I can try making a NAND backup of the vWii and try to use the SNTP and if it bricks my vWii I can restore a backup of it

short flame
barren phoenix
#

alright, probably not the best choice

short flame
barren phoenix
#

make a nand backup of both

short flame
#

I'm not really sure what's going to happen if I have to ask SNTP clients running at the same time. I especially do not know what's going to happen with one in the vWii and one in the Wii U menu

barren phoenix
#

but i feel like if the vWii is synced to the Wii U, synced to a SNTP client, it's probably not the cause

short flame
#

Ya

#

I mean if this all goes well then the vWii and Wii U will have it's own time separate from each other. But it may cause issues when I launch the vWii in the Wii U menu

#

But I'm not sure because this hasn't happened to me before

#

I am going to make a NAND backup of the vWIi right now and try running the SNTP homebrew app in the vWii right now and see what happneds. I will update is thread in a hour or so. wish me luck

short flame
#

Update:

It did not work. my vWii got brick and my unlucky self got unlucky because the NAND backup did not work and now I just lost all of my save data and more. luckily my Wii U menu is safe but now I have to restore the vWii back to it's original state. right now I have to use the Nintendo update feature to restore my vWii. I am really sad that my saves are gone and it is going to be a pain in the butt to reinstall all of my homebrew apps.

Thank you for anyone who help me, I might come back here for help if the FORE000006 still shows up after the restore of the vWii.

#

that really sucks, i apologize for this

I'm sorry too, I didn't realise you were on vWii, luckily you didn't follow what I said immediately, but I have to apologise too, also I feel stupid now

short flame
#

it's ok

short flame
#

the error is still there after the restore

#

what do i do

short flame
#

Update: after waiting many hours since my last message. The weather channel works again. Sure, I have lost most of my data from the vWii brick, but it works now. Thank everyone in this thread for giving me help and supporting me after I got my vWii brick.
