SOLVED AS OF 5/4/24 if you've stumbled across this trying to find a soloution for this problem, for the love of god, follow the instructions detailed here https://www.reddit.com/r/WiiHacks/comments/gqsui2/basic_riiconnect24_troubleshooting_guide/so it's definently a bit technical, but it works (for forecast and news at least). here's where i'm at:
-Forecast channel isn't working and displays FORE000006 code
-Everybody votes channel doesn't work but i think that's for a different reason
-News channel works fine but doesn't display news on home screen and just shows 'the news could not be acessed' even when i just exited out of it
-Everything else works fine including my connection
i've set the time multiple times and this still hasn't been fixed so whatever it is, it isn't a result of the time. i've tried reinstalling the forecast and SPD channels, and it still didn't work, i'm hoesntly stumped as on what to do next. can anyone help? (reposted from support-text) (i still made the og post though)

Just wait awhile for forecast channel to work or keep opening it
Evc is a 50/50 for people rn so yea
News channel could still be processing the features
Because most of these are nothing to worry about its just many things are just processing on the wii and the Internet side
Thx for the help, I was considering removing the damm cmos battery next! BTW, do you know how long it's gonna take to process?
So I tried the forecast for a bit, it displayed the error 107304, I changed the DNS and it displayed the same error once, then went back to the old error. I feel like I'm losing my mind
Hello?
Try reinstalling forecast channel
What region are you using to receive News?
And EVC should work properly
I'm PAL (also on holiday Rn, tell you when I get back)
(Im back) Yeah so reinstalling it didn't work, I've tried waiting and I've tried adjusting the time, but nothing. (Pretty much) everything else works relatively fine so I'm honestly stumped. Should I remove the cmoss battery or does it have nothing to do with the time anymore?
Seems that however long I wait nothing changes
NVM the cmos trick worked
