The wii is a bit… weird when it comes to connecting to the internet. I use a mobile hotspot (because the wii is to old to use anything else and I don’t have ethernet) and it’s interesting to see how the wii doesn’t just connect and that’s that. The wii will only connect to the internet when it needs to, like if you open a channel that needs internet. I would just run a connection test through your wii to make sure everything works.
