Hello!

Apologies if this has been asked many times.

I am attempting to play the US release of VC Super Mario Bros. on my PAL Wii by installing the WAD using YAWN ModMii Edition.

However, upon launching the title it just displays a black screen indefinitely, during which Wii Remotes are unresponsive and the console must be rebooted using a long press of the power button.

I have enabled the "Region Free EVERYTHING" System Menu Hack in Priiloader already. Is there something else I need to do?

Cheers

EDIT: Okay I'm having more trouble. When launching the PAL WAD, the home menu appears, but upon exiting the home menu the Wii apparently outputs no video at all. Or at least my TV/HDMI adapter doesn't know what to do with it.

Unfortunately priiloader does not automatically force the video mode that the Wii uses

Appreciate it my guy :) I'll look into it.

Which is better in my opinion

Yeah I probably will because either my TV or my cable doesn't seem to like 256p.

Moving onto Super Mario 64 in the meantime though. Wishing me luck!

Emunand tutorial if you need it:

To install WiiWare to your Emunand, it is best to use the program ShowMiiWads https://wiibrew.org/wiki/ShowMiiWads

  1. Dump your WiiWare or virtual console wads by following this guide: https://wii.hacks.guide/dump-wads
  2. If you’re WiiWare game supports online multiplayer, you can patch the wad to work with Wiimmfi https://wii.hacks.guide/wiimmfi (see https://wiimmfi.de/stat?m=25 for a list of supported games).
  3. Download ShowMiiWads and extract it to your Windows PC.
  4. Launch the exe file.
  5. Set the path where your WADs are stored.
  6. Set the path of your emunand. If you have not created one yet, make a folder called nands. Inside that, create a folder called 01.
  7. In ShowMiiWads, Select the wads you want to install to your emunand. Right click, and Extract to nand.
  8. If you don’t have internet on your Wii, you can download the covers from https://gametdb.com on your PC.
  9. If you have internet on your Wii, eject the SD from your pc and plug it back into the Wii, and download the covers by pressing 1 on your Wii remote.

Because USB Loader GX can't see the NAND? (Sorry if my replies make no sense, I'm still trying to figure out how to launch WADs using USB Loader GX before I upgrade to emunand)

Thanks so much! I probably could've found that in due time. Just rushing before heading off to an appointment.

Which I have to go to now anyway. Thanks again!
