#Help using ShowMiiWad's

To install WiiWare to your Emunand, it is best to use the program ShowMiiWads https://wiibrew.org/wiki/ShowMiiWads
- Dump your WiiWare or virtual console wads by following this guide: https://wii.hacks.guide/dump-wads
- If you’re WiiWare game supports online multiplayer, you can patch the wad to work with Wiimmfi https://wii.hacks.guide/wiimmfi (see https://wiimmfi.de/stat?m=25 for a list of supported games).
- Download ShowMiiWads and extract it to your Windows PC.
- Launch the exe file.
- Set the path where your WADs are stored.
- Set the path of your emunand. If you have not created one yet, make a folder called nands. Inside that, create a folder called 01.
- In ShowMiiWads, Select the wads you want to install to your emunand. Right click, and Extract to nand.
- If you don’t have internet on your Wii, you can download the covers from https://gametdb.com on your PC.
- If you have internet on your Wii, eject the SD from your pc and plug it back into the Wii, and download the covers by pressing 1 on your Wii remote.
So wait, does ShowMiiWad's not work for getting Wads off a nand backup file? I thought you could get Wads off it from a forum post I saw, I guess not?
I’m pretty sure it can, I wasn’t sure what you were trying to do though
Why do you want to do this exactly
Because I cant pull them off my Wii itself right now but I have my Nand backup that should have them on it.
Ok do you have dolphin
Oh wait nvm you don’t even need that
There’s an extract bootmii dump option in the tools tab
Save it somewhere on the pc where you’ll find it
And then there’s a pack wad at the top of the tools tab options
When I swap to "ShowMiiNands" it only shows .tik files of other wads I had downloaded for things like neogamma on the menu, doesn't even show the nand.bin file, or am I again miss informed and the I need more than just the nand.bin file, I have the full backup but I was told by a diffrent site that you could do it with just the nand.bin file.
If I’m being honest I’ve never done anything like this before
Me too 😆
It doesn’t look too difficult though
Try just extracting the nand
Then you can set the nand path in the options tab
Im copying my full SD card backup that will have my full BootMii dump from my USB right now.
I used the extract bootmii dump option and then it stopped responding so I guess I will wait to see if it starts responding again.
It seemed to not have done anything, Im trying again with a "fresh" install of ShowMiiWad's (I just deleted the cfg file)
Go ahead and explain to me how to do it with dolphin while I wait on ShowMiiWad's to respond since I dont know if its gonna work with ShowMiiWad's, or just link me a quide on how to do it in dolphin, thanks.
Tools>manage nand>import bootmii nand backup
Then file>open user folder
The Wii folder is your nand
Ok dolphin also stopped responding when I imported the backup, once it responds I will see.
Ok, it responded again but is doing a time elapsed thing, I guess SowMiiWad's didn't have the "Time elapsed" thing and just froze until it was done doing whatever it does 😆
It will be in Dolphin-x64 right? the folder the program is installed to?
There is a Wii folder in Sys but it doesn't have much in it.
Ok, I see my Wii nand route is set to a different folder than the dolphin exe but there is a lot in there and I have no clue what is the thing I need...
Is it Wii>Title?
Yeah so you’ll have to set the nand path in showmiiwads (which will be the Wii folder)
Yep, I see the titles in ShowMiiNand now, they are all.tik files.
Do you know what kind of wad it is? Is it a regular channel title?
You should be able to use the pack wad option in tools
Virtual Console games
Yeah those are probably regular channel titles
Here’s the folder names for all the titles https://wiibrew.org/wiki//title
I clicked Pack Wad and it gave me the "The given path's format is not supported" error.
I guess the format dolphin extracts the nand into doesn't work in ShowMiiWad's?
All the files it shows me are .tik files, I would think if it didnt work with it then it wouldnt be able to tell me what the name of the game is let alone see the file...
Its weird since I found exactly what folder had the things I need in it and it only has .app files and no .tik files...
Ok, well I guess I cant do it with ShowMiiWad's thanks anyways.
Going to leave this open in case someone else knows or you figure it out
