Hey! I want to mod my Wii but I'm completely new to all of this and have never attempted any sort of modding on a console before. From what I understand it's relatively easy to mod a Wii though?

What I'm hoping to do mostly is bypass having to use the Wiimote and use a Gamecube controller on the menu because I mostly just want to play GC games so it'd save having to set up the sensor bar every time I want to do that. While I'm at it I thought I might as well look at installing a GC emulator on there but again, completely new to all this so no idea where to begin. Could anyone point me in the direction of guides etc?

I appreciate this has probably already been posted about on here a million times so apologies, but I don't know what to search for that would also explain it in really basic terms that a moron like me can understand. Thanks!

Also you don't need a GameCube emulator, the Wii can play GameCube games natively

#

That's what the GC ports are for

Yeah this is me getting my terminology mixed up. I know you can play GC games natively, I mostly use the Wii with Double Dash or Wario Ware on disc. I guess the correct term would be 'launcher' or something like that? So I can chuck a load of roms on an SD and play them through the Wii. I've been reading through the Wii Guide that yosh890 shared and I can see that sort of thing on there so with a bit of patience I should be able to piece it all together. Thanks though!

I see. Both WiiFlow and USB Loader GX can load GC games as well as Wii games if you install Nintendont. I don't think you can make the Wii Menu navigable by GameCube controller, but you should be able to use Priiloader to make the Wii autoboot to one of those loaders, which are usable with a GC controller, instead of using the Wii Menu.

You formatted it as FAT32 right?

I've tried but I'm not sure it's working. I've followed a few guides and for Mac it needs to be ExFAT because the card's over 32GB. I've seen a few other things saying format it as FAT32 either way but I don't have that option on Mac

No, it has to be FAT32 or the Wii can't read it

#

I'm not sure what app you can use to format it on Mac

Perfect! That's sorted it. Thanks so much for your help mate
