Trying to get the online feature for project m
The video below is a tutorial from 7 years ago.. anybody know if this method would work before I start screwing around with it?

A few of my friends are able to play online today so I know it’s still possible. If you have any simple troubleshooting methods let me know before I go forward with the video tutorial. Thanks.

I want to mention I’m mostly getting the error code 20100 when trying to connect. I’m using to riiconnect24 dns I don’t know if that has anything to do with it.

20100 is definitely due to the riiconnect24 dns.

However, why decide to play such an old mod, when there are more updated alternatives available?

Unfortunately only on dolphin, project M is the only one I know of that's half decent that works on an actual wii

I know project plus would fry my wii too because it’s such a big mod, project M runs fine

This didn’t fix the issue, but my friend might have a solution for me

Auto obtaining dns gives me error code 23400

Oh, that’s the regular connection error, meaning there are not servers available for it

Does project M use gecko codes?

I’m not really that smart, I don’t think so but idk if you’ve watched the video tutorial I linked you might find out

Oh, yeah it does. That’s probably why it doesn’t work anymore.

If it used wiimmfi then it would work but apparently it does not

23400 can also be a sign the codes aren’t being applied

But I assume they are

This guide is old but may help you get it working, from my knowledge it's still active, unfortunately I'm not at home to test this myself

Also found this slightly updated guide, surprisingly very little information about it though I'm quite sure some people are still playing online Wether on wii or dolphin I'm not sure

Edit: seems the experience using an actual wii is quite poor and not recommended due to input delay and lag.. there's an older version of p+ that works but again not ideal
