Hello,
I've been trying to figure out why my Wii Disc Drive isn't properly reading my discs on the Disc Channel. The issue is not with the discs themselves, I have tested several other disks and the problem persists. If I can even load into a game without the disc channel telling me that it can't read my discs, not long after will I get some screen that my disc is unable to be read.
- My ios and cios things are installed correctly.
- I opened my wii to clean the disc drive thinking it was only a dust issue to no avail. (I also cleaned the laser with some alcohol.)
- The discs DO work, but only when using something like USB Launcher GX to launch the discs do they function as expected.
- My discs are relatively scratch free, so that shouldn't be an issue either.
- I've tested Wii Sports, Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure, Mario Kart Wii, and Epic Mickey, and the disc channel presents the same issue with all of them. I've only tested two of these games with USB Loader GX and they seem to work fine.
I'm at a loss of what to do at this point, if it were an issue with the disc drive then surely USB Loader GX wouldn't read the disc either. I have a blue family Wii (lacks Gamecube support) if that helps troubleshooting.
