About 2 days ago my Wii abruptly shut off while playing Super Mario Galaxy. The console was completely turned off with no lights on the power button and I had to wait about 30 minutes for it to return to normal after unplugging and replugging the power cord. I've researched a little bit and discovered that my Wii might be overheating which is 99% the case as it was hotter than usual when it shut off. Also, before the day it shutoff the fans were working perfectly fine until it shut off and now I no longer here the fans running in the Wii. What's my best course of action? Should I try cleaning the fan? Replacing the fan? Is it just an aging thing with old Wii's? Please let me know if you decide to respond. Thank you

Get some canned air and blow on the fan. If that doesn’t work open up the console and do the same thing
I dont have canned air, but I might as well just open the console and try to clean it
You need a tri wing screwdriver
I will attempt tomorrow
@midnight zinc I cleaned out the console, the fan, and replugged it and the wii fan doesn't seem to be spinning....
Is it supposed to start running when it gets hot?
In fact that’s probably why your Wii is overheating in the first place
If so, there might be still a chance
You can try replacing the fan
I guess if the Wii overheats again then just replace the fan
Gotcha
I suggest not using the console
until you replace the fan
because you can damage it
Wii's fan always run at a set speed
it doesn't go faster or slower so if it's not spinning then it's dead
replace it before you play it again if you don't want to lose or shorten it's life
