to also note:
- i'm using a USB flash drive (Samsung)
- it's currently formatted to be FAT32 & MBR & 32 KB allocation ize
- it's a 64GB usb flash drive
- i'm using Wii Backup Manager to import games over to it
Don’t use a usb stick
Sometimes using a USB stick will make you have it restart the Wii to play a different game again
unfortunately i don’t really have any other choices atm
i don’t have money right now to buy a different SD card for games, same goes for an external HDD
You could try checking Facebook marketplace to see if there’s one available at a discount
If you need recommendations for a cheap HDD, here’s a few

i’ll keep them noted though
tyty
SD card might be better for loading games
well i'd like to avoid having to use different types of storage to fix the issue
as i can't buy a different SD card or external hdd (at the moment)
You can use the same SD that you use for apps
the SD i use right now for apps is a 1GB SD
lol
I see
Double check the following:
Format your USB drive: The drive should be 2tb or smaller, formatted to MBR and have a single primary FAT32 partition with 32kb (32768) or 64kb (65536) cluster/allocation unit size. Double check the partition style is MBR: https://www.howtogeek.com/245610/how-to-check-if-a-disk-uses-gpt-or-mbr-and-how-to-convert-between-the-two/
Drive is 64gb or less: Format it to FAT32 with 32kb (32,768 bytes) cluster / allocation unit size. Drive is larger than 64gb: Format it to FAT32 with 64kb (65,536 bytes) cluster / allocation unit size. If the drive is larger than 32GB, you will need third party software like GUIFormat or Wii Backup Manager to format your drive to FAT32 Wii Backup Manager: https://wii.guide/wiibackupmanager GUIFormat: http://ridgecrop.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm
Modern versions of Windows–and other operating systems–can use either the older Master Boot Record (MBR) or newer GUID Partition Table (GPT) for their partition schemes. Here’s how to check which one a disk is using and convert between the two.

USB is MBR already,
USB is FAT32 already,
USB is 32KB allocated size,
USB is 64GB
Currently using Wii Backup Manager
Currently using GUIFormat to format to FAT32
Unfortunately there’s nothing else I can do for you
unfortunate
lol
Actually I just remembered something. You can use Wii backup manager to format the drive to WBFS and for some reason it’s friendlier on flash drives. They only thing is that windows doesn’t recognize it so the only way to transfer files back and forth is with Wii backup manager
Also you won’t be able to use GameCube games that way
but still not the greatest to use right
Obviously
yeah but good option, just not great if you plan on adding a lot of games
sure that's fine
i already only transfer my games through Wii Backup Manager so i don't have a problem with that
plus i don't play any GameCube games on the Wii anyways
so i'll format it as WBFS
Just remember reformatting a drive erases everything
i know lol, i don't have that much on the flash drive anyways
i've only tried out around 1 to 3 games on the flash drive due to the amount of crashing i was encountering
While it is possible to use a flash drive with the Wii by converting it to the WBFS format, this is generally not recommended due to compatibility issues with the proprietary filesystem and the potential for data corruption. HDDs are a better option for use with the Wii due to their larger storage capacity, faster read/write speeds, and greater compatibility with the console. Some recommended affordable HDDs for the Wii include the Toshiba Canvio Basics, the Maxone 2.5" Ultra Slim Portable External Hard Drive, and the Silicon Power A60 Shockproof Portable Hard Drive. These drives are reliable and widely available, and they are priced under $50, making them a good choice for anyone looking to expand their Wii storage on a budget.

They aren't actually. I'd you notice there v11 and the cIOS recommendations are changing
Though I believe we would be recommending the compatibility schema which would have base 38 on slot 248 and base 58 on slot 251
You can set those recommendations here: https://github.com/wiidev/usbloadergx
ok, but why cios 248?
Btw you can remove the preview by adding < > around the link. This is important when you have a bunch of links otherwise you are wasting chat space
idk that's what the usbloadergx dev decided and we gotta conform somewhere
don't know yet
i'm planning on getting other stuff that i need
such as a need SSD for my laptop lol
i changed my cIOS to it and i plan on testing it sooner or later
i can recommend if you want lol
nah it’s fine
i know what i want for my laptop
