Hello, my Wii will not connect to Wi-Fi through my router directly, but going through my pc’s hotspot, it goes just fine. So I have 2 questions. Is there a way to force my router to transmit 2.4 ghz? Or is there a good Ethernet adapter that I can buy just to not deal with Wi-Fi in the first place?

if the wifi is showing up then it's transmitting 2.4ghz. whether it's transmissing 802.11b is a different story

The Wii needs a 2.4ghz signal with Network 802.11b enabled. If your isp will not let you change these settings, you have a few options:

You can use a LAN adapter. It must have the ASIX AX88772 Chipset or say “compatible with Wii”. Here’s a recommended LAN adapter by uGreen https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DRKYKMM/

Alternatively, you can buy a slave router and just use the isp you already have. Here’s a cheap router that should work for the Wii https://www.walmart.com/ip/Netis-WF2412-Wireless-router-4-port-switch-802-11b-g-n-2-4-GHz/37406393

Oh. So it turns out I have the usb 3 version of the adapter. Didn’t realize that that would be an issue. Thanks for the help

USB 3.0 is 100% compatible with USB 2.0

The usb 3 version doesn’t have “compatible with Wii” in the title/description of the product page, should have clarified, my bad
