Not sure what was added already, but I went through with installing Priiloader and BootMii. I was following the process to update the menu, but when trying to install IOS80-64-v6944.wad through WiiModLite, it gives me the message
Error: (-1035) Title with a higher version is already installed.

Will continuing the rest of the process risk a brick, or am I free to continue with the other steps?

To help troubleshoot your issue please run Syscheck and test all IOS on your Wii by following this guide:
https://wii.guide/syscheck

When it's done it will generate and display a syscheck.csv file.

If you have an SD, power down the Wii and insert the SD into a PC. Drag and drop the syscheck.csv file from the root of your SD into chat.

If you don't have an SD, you might get an error. Just continue until the report is displayed. You will need to upload the report and link the URL to chat or take photos of the entire report.

This is my file

Not sure what I do with this info

Oh wow interesting

Is there anything I can do to fix my issue, or would it need like a total reset or something?

  1. Get the Hackmii installer here: https://bootmii.org/download/ Extract the .zip file, copy the HackMii Installer folder to your apps folder. You can make a folder called apps if it does not exist already. Then run the HackMii Installer via the homebrew channel to update homebrew channel to 1.1.2
  2. Install Priiloader (it likely needs an update) https://wii.guide/priiloader
  3. Get Wii mod lite http://wii.guide/wiimodlite and put it in the apps folder. On the wii, go into wii mod lite, select iOS, and delete slots 202,222,223 and 236. Then, update your cios by following this Guide https://wii.guide/cios.html after all that, you need to update to 4.3. Since you’re on 4.2, it would be safe to do it through Nintendo. But if you have concerns, you can do it through Wii mod lite: https://wii.guide/update.html

Sounds good, I'm currently starting the process

I re-installed homebrew meaning it got the update, and re-did my priiloader

astral swan
#

Oh alright that works then I think

hidden valley
#

When I click the home button, it says
1.1.2
IOS61.v21.29

#

So that's my current homebrew update

#

do I continue on to deleting the ios slots

astral swan
hidden valley
#

Oh, what should I do now then?

astral swan
hidden valley
#

Through WiiMod? or regular system update

astral swan
hidden valley
#

so do i delete the ios slots first then try the update wads, or just do the update wads first

astral swan
hidden valley
#

I read it did, so I had reinstalled it again after updating homebrew

astral swan
#

You will just have to reinstall after

hidden valley
#

That works

#

The wad update worked, the error is gone

#

I think it might have just been due to the Homebrew not being updated

#

Okay, the 3 wads have installed

#

The website guide says:
After they are successfully installed, press the HOME Button to exit back to the Homebrew Channel.
Do not return to the Wii menu yet, otherwise you could BRICK. Install Priiloader first.

#

What do I do then?

astral swan
#

Always Install priiloader after system menu update

hidden valley
#

Okay

#

Oh I see yes, lol

#

and then I'm free to go back to the home menu?

astral swan
#

Right

hidden valley
#

Perfect! It updated to 4.3u

astral swan
#

So, you got hbc updated, you got priiloader, you got system menu updated, now it’s just fixing cios right?

hidden valley
#

I believe so

astral swan
#

Did you already delete the iOS slots?

hidden valley
#

No, do I do that now?

astral swan
#

Yeah let’s do that

hidden valley
#

I have deleted the IOS slots, and am now connecting to my internet to do the cios

astral swan
#

Alright cool

#

Did ya get it

hidden valley
#

I just finished the installing with cios

#

and am testing out games I had downloaded

astral swan
#

Okay, I gotta go to bed

#

In case the game doesn’t work, here’s a guide

#

Format your USB drive: The drive should be 2tb or smaller, formatted to MBR and have a single primary FAT32 partition with 32kb (32768) or 64kb (65536) cluster/allocation unit size. Double check the partition style is MBR: https://www.howtogeek.com/245610/how-to-check-if-a-disk-uses-gpt-or-mbr-and-how-to-convert-between-the-two/
Drive is 64gb or less: Format it to FAT32 with 32kb (32,768 bytes) cluster / allocation unit size. Drive is larger than 64gb: Format it to FAT32 with 64kb (65,536 bytes) cluster / allocation unit size. If the drive is larger than 32GB, you will need third party software like GUIFormat or Wii Backup Manager to format your drive to FAT32 Wii Backup Manager: https://wii.guide/wiibackupmanager GUIFormat: http://ridgecrop.co.uk/index.htm?guiformat.htm

How-To Geek

Modern versions of Windows–and other operating systems–can use either the older Master Boot Record (MBR) or newer GUID Partition Table (GPT) for their partition schemes. Here’s how to check which one a disk is using and convert between the two.

Thank you for all the help

#

If I can't fix it in the next 5 minutes it's also lights out for me lol

astral swan
#

Okay good night then

hidden valley
#

Goodnight!

astral swan
#

Oh also if HBC still says it’s running on 61, try uninstalling it and reinstalling it through hackmii installer

hidden valley
#

Alrighty, thank you

#

It has gone back down to 58
