#WiiFlow 5.5.3 crash on some games
28 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Using usb stick?
Unlikely a problem with WiiFlow. Potentially a problem with cIOS or maybe the game fil. But my first guess would be the storage device
Let us know what you have your games on.
@brittle heron @spare atlas on SD. I actually have no idea what cIOS I'm on. I have the one installed from homebrew browser
I might try getting a new game file to try
Syscheck
Update your HBC
Yeah it might be the same i installed back in 2014 or something. It affects stuff?
Yes, newest version is 1.1.2
Should only updating the homebrew channel fix this stuff or do I need to do something after that?
Only updating
At least Metroid prime trilogy seemed to crash after updating HBC
You're missing cIOS.
After reinstalling the homebrew channel, follow this guide to install the recommended cIOS:
https://wii.guide/cios
After installing cIOS with that guide, WiiFlow won't launch and just returns to HBC. Tried reinstalling it.
Can you share a syscheck again
You installed cIOS to slot 249 wrong which would explain your issue
Just install slot 249 again following the guide more closely. No need to do slots 250 or 251 again
Also you should install Priiloader. It's an important layer of brick protection that is normally installed before bothering with cIOS.
You can follow this guide:
https://wii.guide/priiloader
I remember seeing priiloader on homebrew browser. Can i just install it from there?
yeah, the priiloader installer is on homebrew browser. Just make sure to run the installer after you download it
Also please read the priiloader guide
I was able to play Metroid prime without a crash! My brother will test wii sports resort next.
Thank you very much for help!
Apparently that priiloader hack also removed region lock?
For disc games/channels yeah. Doesn't really affect WiiFlow
Am I okay to close the thread?
