Does anything look wrong to you guys?
Backup the nand.bin file to your computer for safe keeping.
Make sure the nand.bin is on the root of your SD.
Launch Bootmii on boot2, use the buttons on the front of the Wii console to navigate the restoremii screen
I think u have to go to the gear icon, then the icon that has an arrow going from the SD to a computer chip
Use the POWER and RESET buttons on your console, or a GameCube controller plugged into port 1. To navigate between options, press POWER on your Wii (or left/right on the +Control Pad on a GameCube controller). To select an option, press RESET on your Wii or A on your GameCube controller.
What?
The NAND is the problem
The thing I attached was the bricked NAND
I think its a problem with the channels/wadss
I have no other backup to restore from
sorry I thought you had a backup of a working nand as most people have a backup from when their wii was working
You can follow this guide to generate a clean nand using your nand backup
there might be a way to configure Ohneschwanzenegger to not remove save data or other stuff and just overwrite the sysmenu and IOSes
But I couldn't tell you how to do that.
So a program like ModMii can download all the necessary sysmenu wad and IOS wads
and then you can use Ohneschwanzenegger to import the wads to the nand.bin file
then you can use bootmii to restore the nand.bin with the new sysmenu/ios files
bruh u can't even load priiloader
the Wii opens up to BootMii
idk how lol
what happens when you load the wii menu from bootmii
no output
what happens when you try loading the wii menu from bootmii then immediately start holding reset
it should load up pretty immediately if it could launch
I'm pretty sure your wii is bricked and the onlything saving you from having to solder wires and hardware flash your nand to save it is Bootmii on boot2
so you should be thankful that you can do this
this is very easy compared to what most wiis would be in in this situation
okay
well
i do have a working nand
modded too
but this is my old nand
with all my data on it
i just wanna try and make the old nand dump work
and my miis
okay whatever you want
I just gave you a solution that would keep all your save data and everything
i'd like to just try and get this working
what?
right here
can you use modmii on a bricked thing?
use the PC program, ModMii to download all the system files that a wii requires to work
then import them into the nand.bin file
it should overwrite whatever old wad you installed that bricked the wii
because whatever bricked it is likely a sysmenu wad
i will try reinstalling the sysmenu
how do i tell what version i had?
and what region?
oh wait
i have a european wii
you should be able to tell what region wii it is here:
yeah i got that
but I think you should import more than just the sysmenu wads
okay
I have no idea what version sysmenu you had
and different sysmenu require different ios
so please install the required IOS for the sysmenu
hm
Which ModMii will do
do i install whatever sysmenu?
i think it was 4.3E
what mode do i choose for modmii
just the downloads page?
Download and install ModMii to a Windows computer
https://modmii.github.io/
Launch Modmii Classic (not ModMii Skin)
Read the agreement and type I Agree and press enter.
Type RC and press enter for Region Change + Guide
Type Y and press enter.
Type E and press enter for Euro (PAL)
Type 4.3 and press enter.
Select a theme.
Type D and press enter for default
Type Y to begin download.
When it's done, type O and press enter to open the folder. You'll find all the .wad files in COPY_TO_SD/WAD
no
perf
set local cache to the folder with test copy
then click search and select the test copy nand.bin
then import
ok imported
so i should be able to add this to the sd card right?
did it directly update the selected nand.bin?
hoenstly I don't know if there's another button you need to use
ill just try restoring lol
godspeed
definitely changed, there are a decent amount of green blocks in the bootmii restore
still nothing though
unfortunately
it might be some channels
should I remove those?
You should at least see a health and safety screen if it was a channel causing issues
what did u try
you can try it
is there a way to reinstall hbc
I don't think so
i it only possible thru the wii working?
sorry my s key ometimes doessnt press or double pressess
Im not convinced we used Ohneschwanzenegger correctly
hm
what ill do:
- install some new ios stuff through Ohneschwanzenegger (came from modmii setup)
- run the hackmii installer thru bootmii sd card menu
Idk if u can actually run the HackMii Installer from the bootmii menu
o then go for it
yeah you might be able to run Wii Mod Lite to install the sysmenu and other wad files from ModMii
nevermind, running the elf just causes the blue lights to flash on the disc area
and it just freezes
also the new ioses didnt fix anything
any more ideas?
U can generating a clean NAND
just to see if it'll work
that will end up taking me back to my working nand tho
idk what you mean by working NAND
ah
it wass created using the Ohneschwanzenegger thing
Oh so it did work?
did it work tho
k well idk how to fix your old NAND
You might be able to export save or Mii data from it
Using Dolphin
Idk how to do that with Dolphin so good luck
ok
Well I restored it to the working nand
Worked fine until now
The wii is flashing blue on the disc area
And there is no system menu
