Okay then.. so i just booted up news to check something out.. and the download failed and it gave me NEWS00006 for somereason.. the thing is.. the banner itself shows the news data. but not in the channel itself for somereason? so does that mean its just invalid data then? Forecast channel works though. just to mention that out. fizz_l

wii.guide Riiconnect24 instructions say: It’s common to get error FORE000006 on the Forecast Channel after installing RiiConnect24. If you get it, make sure your Wii’s to the correct date and time, then wait no more than an hour and it may start working. [If you still get error FORE000006 or if you get NEWS000006, you will need to delete your SYSCONF with RC24-Clear-Tool].
this would probably work for News Channel as well as Forecast Channel

@viral ginkgo is it fair to say News Channel doesn't work on vWii at this point? I tried everything, new clock battery, SNTP tool, adjusting Wii U clock, NNID time-zone, deleting SYSCONF & wc24dl.vff, uninstalling & reinstalling the wad, still get NEWS000006. I'm a fairly persistent person but I've given up.

I see. I saw some people say to format the vWii but I couldn’t find anyone who claimed to do it & news channel working after. I’ll just leave it alone. Maybe one day they incorporate some sort of fix

arctic geyser maybe try the rc24 clear tool

I believe its been said here that the RC24 clear tool only works on regular Wii. Solving NEWS000006 on vWii/Wii U seems to be F'd lol
