When i use Nintendont by itself, the games load fine although they don't let me save even though i have the emulated memcard on.
When i use USBLoaderGX to start the gamecube games, it says that it is creating a 2048kb (251 block) card, (even though in config i told it to make a 123 block card) and then shuts the wii down.
I don't know why this is happening.

anyone?
Are you using a USB flash drive
yes
the thing is when i load Nintendont manually without USBLoaderGX, it works just fine
for some reason it just shuts down the wii when i try loading a game through USBLoaderGX
I've heard that Nintendon't doesn't like USB flashdrives a lot, but i don't have any other drive
@round schooner flash drives often cause issues and should be avoided.
It's often when the Wii tries to write to the USB drive. Like when it's trying to write the save file to it.
Use an SD or USB hard drive.
PNY 32gb SD:

SanDisk 32gb SD:

Any usb hard drive 2tb or smaller should work. If you're low on money, just get the cheapest one you can find
Here is a very cheap 320gb HDD:

If you want something with a reliable warranty and might be made of better material, get a 1tb one from a known brand like WD, Seagate, or Toshiba:

You can also use any 2.5" drive with an enclosure known to work with the Wii:

I can’t buy one
k good luck
this isn’t an issue with the god damn USB drive though
You can easily test that by loading from an SD instead
Nintendont works fine when i use it without usbloadergx
With memory card Emulation enabled?
My SD port has been broken for as long as i can remember
And it saves?
haven’t tested it
it usually just says that there is no memcard
buti think thats because i havent really fucked with the config
U can try disabling memory card emulation in USB Loader GX global settings.
and see if it works then.
uh
fuck
it works now
Man I Sure Wonder What This Could Possibly Mean!!!
lol
yes the thing is i live in venezuela and it’s such a hassle to get amazon packages here i don’t wanna do it
oh yeah those links only good for US
you have to use a proxy and then wait like 6 - 7 months for it to get here
so im just gonna look around
Good luck
thanks
@round schooner
If you can't find one. Do you remember if you formatted your USB drive with 32kb allocation unit size
power down the Wii, insert the drive into your PC, then search in windows for cmd and press enter.
in the command prompt, type chkdsk x: but replace x with the letter for your USB flash drive.
then screenshot the output
hold on i gotta turn on my computer
it says that there are errors in the drive but won't fix them since i didn't use "/f"
then it asks me if i want to turn bad sectors into files?
It's 32kb
so it's good?
It's right
But your drive has corruption
Which happens a lot when using flash drives with the wii
do i fix the corruption
U can try backing up your files and reformatting the drive
hm
or yeah I guess running the command again with the /f
See if it fixes it
I don't think either will fix it but there's a chance
So it's worth a try
I wonder why it's like that though
why do wii programs just
not like USB flashdrives
alright
done
imma try it
nope
of course
welp
here's something weird though
if i try booting it with memcard emulation on through Nintendont
it works
just fucking fine
perfectly
memcard emulation works
but not through USBLoaderGX
in which case, it simply hangs and then shuts down
so uh where do i claim my trophy
im gonna try saving a game then booting from USBLoaderGX
maybe that'll work now?
i say that because maybe since Nintendont now has a save file to load
If it doesn't have to create the save file
it doesn't try to write anything
i need to find a save point first
this is my first time playing luigi's mansion for the gamecube
uh
well uh
im just gonna go tyr it
i can't find a savepoint plus i think it already created a file
considering it actually loaded and said it had a memory card in
@hidden violet yoooo it works on usbloadergx now !!!
success !!!
thank you for the help :)
now i know that for the first boot i need to do it directly on Nintendon't
That's not normal and definitely a symptom of USB stick disease
But I'm glad you got something working. Nice work
COVID-USB
anyways
i'll lock the thread now
