bad photoshop lol
The HDMI cable is sold separately.
And Wii to HDMI adaptors are not the best. They sometimes do not work at all.
already have an extra
just wanted to make sure it looked legit and it got pretty good reviews too
I would just use the component cables for the Wii since the Wii loses image sharpness with the HDMI converters.
Here is a active Component to HDMI converter.
wii2hdmi so no
Why does nobody use active converters anymore.
It will work but the picture is gonna look ass, believe us
With passive converters you lose some quality for not having any external power for the analogue to digital converter chip.
You're welcome.
wait
can i use a av to hdmi with external power?
i can’t seem to find a component cable for wii on amazon.ca
ok it should work better than a wii2hdmi right?
probably, but the difference is that a wii2hdmi will use the component input
i just wanna play that one mario kart wii level with snow but the snow blends in with the ice and the snow slows me down
it should work for that so thanks!
dk summit? i know no section of n64 sherbet land that slows you down
yeah i think so
Dunno.
AV to HDMI has composite quality image while Wii2HDMI has component quality image.
The former is blurry while the latter is less blurry.
I think the Wii2HDMI may be a active converter since it uses 5V judging by the pin/pad layout, the crystal oscillator produces a diagonal artifact on the image though.
I also attempted to solder in a PS2/PS3 video out with the Wii2HDMI and it worked
The display slowly disappears when I crank the PS3's resolution up to 720p/1080p, the Wii2HDMI cannot handle it.
Alternatively some dude that makes Component2HDMI converters that outputs a less shitty image than Wii2HDMI: https://electron-shepherd.com/wii2hdmi/ and https://electron-shepherd.com/analog2hdmi/
Overall, either do a WiiDual mod, get a OSSC, or build a GBS-Control (GBS-8200 mod) to use retro gaming consoles on newer TVs but that's "scaler" territory, not "converter" territory anymore.
On other hand, Wii games are blurry as hell regardless when compared to the GameCube (inc. Nintendont) and Dreamcast until the homebrew scene found out how to disable the blurry ass SoftFilter (480p) and DeflickerFilter (480i) in almost every Wii game, making the image very crisp (and also some games show dithering like RE4).
Main issue I see with a lot of wii2hdmi adapters besides the occasional shitty quality is that they will output a 480i image over HDMI which many newer TVs don't accept.
Usually solved by switching the Wii to 480p mode but good luck doing that if you can't see or have another compatible display.
I bought a component to HDMI converter that includes a scaler to upscale to 1080p so the HDMI signal is compatible with the TV
i own one but i barely use mine
its fucking shit
