Honestly the update that added humanity's insatiable hunger for war was mid. It really made mental stat ups worthless since it would just drop to 0 when a war came by. It's also that it isn't a good idea to upgrade strength. or mental strength, because you'll be used as a tool instead, removing the fun of the game. Honestly really mid update, wish they could revert back to the farming update instead.
