Before Contacting a Staff Member:

1) Determine what type of Staff Member to get in contact with:

Note: Unless specified in their introductions ( #meet-the-devs ), Art Fight’s developers seldom need to be contacted directly. For known bugs, please view #af-bugs.

  • Have you found an unreported bug? Please fill out our Bug Report Form with a detailed explanation and relevant screenshots of the issue.

2) Look at Staff Members' intros in #meet-the-chat-mods / #meet-the-site-mods / #meet-the-higherups to determine who would be able to help you with your issue & what filters they are comfortable helping you with.

  • Ask before sending any content that may or does require a filter, and make use of Discord’s spoiler feature with a content warning before sending such content
#

3) Determine the Staff Member’s availability

4) Please only contact one moderator at a time regarding a question or concern, and allow ample time for a response. Contacting several moderators in a short time frame is punishable under Chat Rule #1.1. Haven’t received a response? Please refer to:

5) We understand that certain situations or issues can be distressing, but we ask that you treat our staff civilly. During periods of high activity, staff may be busy with several users at once, so we kindly ask that you approach us with patience. Harassment of our staff team is punishable under Chat Rule #1.2.

When to submit a User Report?

What is the User Report feature?

The User Report feature allows users to report other server members to staff without the need to approach a staff member directly. This feature is only for misconduct in the Art Fight Discord server. Reports pertaining to the website must be filed on-site.

What you can report with the User Report feature:

Please keep in mind that the User Report system does not allow communication between users and moderators beyond set bot messages. Examples of things you can report include, but are not limited to:

  • Unfiltered content
  • Harassment
  • Uncomfortable commentary
  • Spam
  • Minigames issues (such as overdue claims), etc.
#

How to use the User Report feature:

  • Find a channel that you are able to type in and type /report. It is important that you include the slash - this is how Discord recognizes your input as a bot command.
  • You will not be shown as typing to others when using slash commands, nor will other users see that you’ve sent the command.
  • For a more detailed guide, please refer to our Sapphire User Report Guide.

Do NOT use the User Report feature to report:

  • Urgent matters or emergencies that require immediate attention. These should be reported directly to Chat Moderators using direct messages, pinging individual moderators, or pinging the Moderator role. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Scam messages or ongoing arguments
    • Trolls
    • Situations where a member may pose a danger to the community
  • Anything that you feel would need discussion with staff shouldn’t be sent through this system. The User Report system does not allow staff-to-user communication beyond set bot messages.
    • Do NOT use the User Report system to ask for filter or ratings help. We cannot use the bot to communicate with you this way.
  • Reports about rule-breaking content or behavior on the Art Fight website should be made using the on-site report feature. Site Moderators cannot view reports filed through the server. Refer to:

Emergency Situations / Moderator Role

Waiting on a Response?

Our staff is entirely made up of volunteers. This means we do moderating work outside of our real-life responsibilities. In addition, we are a small team who gets hundreds of messages from different members of the community. Please be patient while waiting for a response

  • We do not reassess cases that have been closed for insufficient evidence. If you feel this is an error, you may reach out to the admin account on site. If you have new evidence that may impact the contents of your prior report, please file a new report and staff will handle it accordingly.

If you have been unable to get a response from a staff member, please make sure you go through the following steps:

  • If you have messaged a staff member and have not received a response in 24 hours, you may send a follow-up message to the original moderator you contacted
  • If you haven’t received a response 12 hours after the follow-up, you may reach out to another staff member. When doing so, please:
    • Let the previous moderator know if you've contacted a new moderator
    • Let the new moderator know you waited the appropriate time listed above with evidence

Failure to abide by these guidelines will result in disciplinary action under Chat Rule 1.1.
