In short, when using a steam valve directly next to a duct, it can vent steam without any issues. But if you save this build and load it again, the steam valve does not let you vent any steam even if the duct is removed. To fix it you need to replace the steam valve and place the air duct back. This makes it impossible to have setups which vent directly into a duct without having another steam pipe part / air gap Infront.
