I know that it is not that usefull bc of camera update (which I hate) but not having it just makes more problem for multiplayer. Me and my friend couple days ago tryed to play FtD again on multiplayer adventure and constantly had problems of blocking each other guns on separate ships! It could work just like steering wheal, you HAVE to have one on ship to manually control guns, but IF you have character next to it you will control only guns that this controller is assigned to. I think that would not only make it better bc it will work like ship steering wheal, make it relevant again, be consistent with other game feature and most important it will fix multiplayer problem.

what could be done, is make it (instead of obsolete) useful in adventure mode (as in adventure rambot is forced to be spawned in, so why not make it needed to control weapons in adventure but keep it normal in campaign/designer, or maybe even make it only. needed in general while rambot is spawned in / inplay?

what if it could be used for multiplayer so that if you interact with it or something. you gain control of the guns and other players can't control the ship's gun whih will solve the multiplayer issue

Some legacy option checkboxes for stuff like this would be nice, the new rambot energy is another example. I didnt board ships but used to destroy enemy buildings mainframes in campaigns to keep the cities somehow intact for immersion, now it takes triple the time with the new energy mechanic.
