Would need to be added to enemy crafts.
Lot more work then Radio Chatter.

Use Readers and Writers to hack enemy and gain some basic control. Turning On and Off stuff, temporarily, like shield, detection systems, AI or AI firing setting,

Method:
Reader writer index is used.
-a) Enemy broadcasts an array of indexed values and only if the player sends back the right index he hacks. Range is 1 to 1000, one index or a range send back gives access.
-b) Enemy sends one changing value every frame, player needs to record and send back a value from certain frames ago.
-c) On spawn or put in to play a random 3 to 5 length number code is written to a writer.
The player gains access if he sends back the right numbers and wrights it's own code breaker assault programs. Lower tier faction, like DWG might have 3 long numbers and never change while harder Factions have longer numbers and change on an interval so you need to rehack.

Because what FtD really needs is an invisible combat system based entirely on the player's ability to write a program copy-paste a program from lua-repository.

This is a terrible idea.

I mean technicaly you're already doing that if you EMP the enemy breadbox, and i dont think localised emp strike is really fair , even more that lot of crafts are meant to not lose control even a single second, and would end up in ''lost control'' state and die

#

The idea is super cool if it didnt utterly 100% broke the game's balance
