Custom wing parts behave strangely when submerged in water.
No problem with custom control surfaces.

The force of wings is tied to the velocity of the craft, so any jitter (such as buoyancy calculations) in a light enough craft can easily cause an exponential feedback loop.
Linking their force to the velocity of the craft rather than the velocity of the wing made wing props slightly harder to make, but all in all those things are still incredibly jank and easy to make cheese from.
