I appreciate the thought with the pillory nerf, but the pillory was never the problem. The problem is that our counterpart is dogshit. Take the hangman heavy rifle, make it worse in literally every stat, and you get the dragonfly.
I only use it because I am a stubborn git.
Make buckshot do shrapnel damage so always bleed on hit, increase the damage slightly, make it faster to aim, I don't really care. Something to give it a reason to exist. Something to make it more than an inferior hangman.

I think that shrapnel buckshot would help both shotguns, the pillory cant kill someone point blank unless its both barrels on target, but it gets them low enough the bleed from one shot would likely drop them.
Heres an idea: Reduce the damage on both even more, like say 40%, make them shrapnel damage, then increase the damage cone by like 30%.
That way you'll tag bleeds on a lot of people with 1 shot and cuase staggers. Good to counter swarms for rushes but get clowned on in a 1v1 where they are actually shooting at you.

it's as if i take the fiddler and say it's shit when you look at the dusk (to not miss read, i don't say dusk is OP i say it's a better fiddler)
