the commander is a separate entity, so it should also be drawn separately. References are scrap, you need to take them and make them into what you need.

just do tabletop online, that's what I do
when I say tabletop though, I use it very loosely, we use a system, there's a setting, etc, but it's more character/RP heavy. I love that sort of stuff because at least in my head it's like we're making/watching a TV show or something on Netflix or HBO as we go and you get pretty invested in the happenings of the characters like you would a show.
It also gives me so many options for things to draw

@cosmic bough if your hand hurts, you should be more carefull! Take regular breaks, and check if your grip is not straining on your arm! The last thing you want is RSI
Composure is everything, for everything!
If your hands start hurting, that should be a signal that something is wrong and you should not push that! Pain is gain only goes for body building. There are many tips on how to reduce strain on your hand, which work to varying degrees and depend on how you draw
Things that worked well for me: resting wrist on something, take a hand-stretch every 20ish minutes, use soft pencils whenever possible (or set your drawing pad to more sensitive), make sure that you never draw in a 'weird angle'

`We Colonials have our share of disasters in that sea: from the disastrous landing Ten years ago where a force of 4,000 men died attempting to scramble for cover in that exposed beach to the folly of Legate Crassus Dio. A man truly out of his depth and an example of Mesean excess and corruption. His body nor his Aquila were ever found then.
