well, depends on what the reason for the AC is; countries like the netherlands had no tanks, so the ACs had to be beefy you know. If your car is made for fighting, a long and strong gunned designed is preffered over something small, made for reconnaissance

So this is my take on a Guardia Rebel it's still WIP, but I wanted to ask some feedback about the face, I don't know why but it feels weird. Any comments?

I think it feels weird because there's a perspective issue on the face, the nose seems to be facing the left a bit too much while the rest of the face for the most part is facing just slightly to the side of the "camera" @restive gyro
I have the same issue and it takes me a good bit to actually get it right. I'd circle the specific spots, but I'm not at my PC right now.

I observe two odd points; the nose is a sort of unbalanced piramide like structure, but in de drawing, it appears to not extend enough. Now this could be a flat nose, but that is not very common in real life. The other is actually the eyes. If you turn your head, the width if your eyes "change" because your face is rounded. I would try making the back eye (left) a tad less wide. Then move the whole nose part slightly to the left as well as to make the distance between the eye corner and the nose smaller @restive gyro
I think if you experiment with that for now, it might solve the issue

Its really up to the Artist on what they want but there is just something about anime and Chibi art style that dosent go well with what foxhole is going for. Like this game is supposed to be realistic and art that depicts very gritty scenes of destruction or the aftermath of a battle fits with Foxhole. Chibi or Anime styles of art dosent catch that...grit that some others do cause most of the time its cartoony, light hearted, or depicts women (not to say that there is anything wrong with that)

I prefer using masks and then set it to a multiplier overlay. It is a bit harder to get the color right at first, but allows more fluent shadowing with the right pens

@restive gyro 10x better, he looks like he has actually seen the sun in the war more now. Forehead is a little bit bright, also the left cheek might be as well but I can’t tell with the forehead. Left check may also be a little dark but I doubt it myself. Not an artist by the way so take what I say with a grain of salt.
Second opinion: it may be the cheeks and not the forehead, the don’t “match” as well as the rest of the face imo (drawing a line down the middle.) but definitely a major improvement from the last time
Idk the terminology but “shading wise” the left half of his face seems brighter then the right if that makes sense. Personally think it’s the cheeks but again not an artist

I just have a reference image, in this case it was a bust. I draw the basic basic forms and then start working on it. then I sketch the basic proportions and how things are gonna go, later a iterative process with clearer lines on another layer to have a more define thing.
Next I would do the inking (I believe is called), where I do the line work. In this case I hadn't though that the drawing would take this turn so I did a thick one 'cause I originally though about doing it a bit more cartoony (next time I will try with thinner lines).
Then it comes the colouring process, in this step the reference image wasn't too much of help due to various sources of lighting so I eyeballed it. I made a layer for shadows with blackish and white tones and tried to blend them.
After that I used basic solid colour layers and tune the shadows to make it "work". I multiplied the layers in a rush.
I tried to blend colours properly but since I'm new into digital drawing I made a mess with the brushes options and colour blocking, so I resorted to multiplying the shadow layers.
That's basically it

@restive gyro so, basically, you gotta find brushes on deviantart. Most of those brushes can help a lot in different situations, while also providing a texture feeling. Now, about lights and shadows, colours must not be isolated. The highest tone on the face should be mixed with the lightest one on the jacket. This way, your colours travel along the painting.
Brushes can be helpful, buf too many can be stressful too, so jsut use whatever you like to, test them out, see what works for what.
Now, about colours, here is a painting I made a while back and I keep using it as an example cause it was by itslf a study on the thing I just said:

Yes, but as a rule of thumb: never, ever take a colour and use just it for lights and shadows. For example, never go with blue from black to white, called brightness. Play with all 3:
Think about warm and cold colours, then contrast. Try to come up with something that delivers a message too, like: if this tank is green, what is the best colour for shadow? A darker green, moving the hue slightly towards yellow and with a lower saturation, depending on how far it is.
Youu use saturation, A, for depth, then brightness for, of course, brightness, othed than that, how is your friend. Combining them is an art by itself.

Yeah, I get what you are saying. I just tried that first but got myself stuck, so I just opted for a "quicker" way using blacks and whites for shadows, since I was getting mad learning on how to use the brushes

On a more precise subject, in your drawing, the face should be darker in some areas, then the jacket should have a different type of blue in shadow and a different one on light. But if you have another warden in the back, that guy's colours should tend to be of a lower saturation.

I had a pallet for like, 4 to 6 blues for shading but I couldn't make myself clear with the brushes, so I tried to pull it out

Now if you can make shadows alout of cold vs warm colours, then you are all sef and ready to go. Whites and blacks makes it look like an icon.

Hey guys, I'm gonna ask this here because I can't find any solutions on the internet. So I'm using procreate for drawing, I spent like half an hour doing stuff with it, went away for 10 mins and it would crash everytime I open the app. Has anyone experienced the same?
The only solution I have found would be to reinstall the app, something I'm reluctant to do since it will delete all my drawing files
