I personally don't like the commander being distracted and not being able to focus on spotting, usually I have infantry around who should take care of the stickie guys, I have had a couple situations where the spotter wasn't focusing on what's his job is. And suddenly 2 enemy's BTs role up from the side to flank you, but yeah I can understand some people want to shoot some people from commander to, otherwise job is pretty boring sometimes

There was no ww2 art in my portfolio. Simply because I was working on non ww2 projects at a kids animation studio before that. But I built the layout of my portfolio to show consistency. Like I can hit this level of art skill repeatedly regardless of the subject matter.

One of the most important aspects of working in production art, I have found, Is personal trust. Being able to accurately know how long something will take you and communicate it with your team. This lets schedules be planned around your art so no one is waiting on you to complete a task. If you can communicate that in an interview you are more likely yo get a job.
and on the job if your boss doesn't have to think about you cause he knows you can handle a task. That will keep you employed

It is very hard. It is always a reference, at least in part, of something else. This extends all the way back to nature itself.
So, really, I guess the whole trope of "nothing is original' is partially true in a way.
But for the actual creative process, many people do it so many different ways.
I know my friend Psyk323 does it with picking a theme and a general premise, and then does thumbnail paints, before picking a few out and refining each concept down before really settling on a certain thing.

@solar wraith Hey sorry I went to go get lunch. Mark Matt and I have meetings. Mark knows what he wants next in the game. I am usually working on assets that are weeks and months away from being in game. Mark has the grand vision and we communicate daily. Once I know what he wants I then produce a lot of variations for him to pick his favorite.

Probably has flexibility within those guidelines and general themes/specifics, so yeah.
I know from a friend that generally, if the artist is not the major creative force behind the game, there is a ton of back and forth and the artist still has the ability to influence the game in at least small ways in terms of actual mechanics and major ideas. Though, most of the actual influence is squarely within the 'art' part of everything.

Woah now. No need to be that upset about something fan-made. Besides, I made these description based on what the devs showed on the devstream. All the relics were in deep snow so I thought that the original models were somewhere in the north regions. It just made sense for the Wardens find it first and the Colonials "stealing" the designs.

Wondering, is there a good brush thing to decrease the edge strength of some of the highlights without using a blur? I tried using smear and warp, but they didnt give good results. Maybe I use the wrong settings, dont have much experience with it since I used to do transparent brushes...

Usually I do use photoshop, but it is Artweaver
pretty much the same interface, but optimalised for drawing pads

I don't even try to match the backgrounds to the exact shapes. I pick a texture after drawing, and just stretch it haphazardly until it fits
