When people ask me "padfoot how did you get your name and dont you have a real name" the thing is I do have a real name I just choose not to use it because it causes me so much pain to remember it but for the close people who do know me all they have to know it that my earlest memorys were of me living at small house on fishermans row on the edge of the small village of Argosa I lived there with my mother Aelia and my father Detmar I used to beg my dad to take me to the navy base where he was stationed I always loved to watch the soldiers march back and forth. But it was never to last sadly one day my father was called away to the base for something important my mother would never tell me these thing but I could tell it was something bad she would always wait by the door for him to return but this time was diffrent my mother wait like she did I always just played in my room with my toy soldiers I was only 12 at the time I didnt know there was a war on at the time. suddenly I heard a loud bang like a cannon going off I looked out my window to see these funny looking soldiers in green outfits standing in the street they were shouting for everyone to leave there homes my mother quickly wrenched me away from the window and tried to hide me I rember the soldiers banging on the door yelling for my mother to open it when they broke down the door my mother shoved me behind her and grabbed hold of my fathers sword and pointed it towards the soldiers they took one look at her and then one look at me and then Bang they shot her right infront of me I screamed in horror as my mother collapsed I went to run for the door but one of the soldiers grabbed me and bound my hands and dragged me out into the street where they had taken all the other children from my village they stood us in
a line and marched us off south towards Gamblers gulf when we reached the beach there was this big ship started to march us one by one up the ramp into the ship all of a sudden I heard my father voice yelling I looked further down the beach to see him running toward us with a small squad of soldiers as the green soldiers saw them they started shooting I tried to make a run for it but they grabbed me and dragged me aboard the last I saw of my father was him kneling down on the beach as the ship I was on sailed away I didnt know at the time who these soldiers where or what they wanted me with me and the other children be we soon learned quickly what they wanted with us they were Colonials and

I wouldn't really go that far, both factions have plenty of soldiers I doubt they'd send children out with minimal training into the fray and if they both have automated machines to make equipment there isn't any use for slaves if they even condoned it in the first place, but then again it's your story that's just the way I see it

Thanks man, my prof had us draw the model in different ways actually too, like the second one from the top was done with my right hand (I'm left handed) and first two are drawings done without looking at my paper, multi color one are different 5 min drawings where the model turned to the right every 5 min, the very bottom one I had to tape two pencils together long ways and use the pencil from the very top to draw and the middle one was just normal

She was not completely naked too so that helped, she had spandex shorts on, but I didn't want to draw that because it looked funny when I first did it

I found this, it looks gray like in the painting, and according to tank encyclopedia it’s a Brit M3 lend lease, which makes sense considering the men in the painting are wearing British helmets

Really the biggest thing I wanted to show was how close it looked like it was a thing that you’d maybe find in foxhole considering the Devitt and the M3 are visually similar in a few ways (especially in this painting, the angle makes it look similar to a Devitt and it’s god damn blue lookin’, not to mention the British soldiers look similar ish to collies)

to make it artsy
Im studying blocking between objects when players wanted to view the landscape on a lower angle.
Wanted to focus on Blocking and lighting on this one.
Looking back at the way I did it, it could stand to do better.
But on a gameplay perspective, the map design was something like this.
I wish I could have more versatility with using placeholders, but the world builder is just hard to navigate around.
so here's where I derail into the semantics that I felt like I shouldn't have until at the end of the design phase.
I immediately started doing a color palette kind of thing

Naturally, the water was too performance intensive
and looking at the camera alignment, the way they're pre-set doesn't suite the player on the north.
he'll be at screen disadvantage compared to the other.
despite that, I did a really basic territory distribution.
playing it didnt felt like a really tactical map.

the game play became something like this. Was too flat for my taste.
not much versatility, and it's always one type of play style. Not much of an RTS.
so with these things in mind, I toned down the water, made rivers instead, and then opened up the sides for flanking. At least there's that.
then slowly worked my way on populating the map, it's always heavy cover for your base, then a medium - light cover in the middle.
one of CoH's core mechanic is cover so I think it's pretty important in weighing where most players will fight
and what kind of advantage does one have against the other.
on an artsy side, I made sure that majority of the screen isn't obscured with large trees.
while keeping it somewhat interesting. lol

Dear Ma and Pa,
Thanks for the gifts you sent me, the cookies were delicious mom, everyone in my squad thought so. Mail call is one think I'm always looking forward to. I just want to hear from y'all back home, see how things are doing back home. I'm glad dad was able to get the truck fixed up, supposed to be a cold winter this year, those gloves dad sent me are already coming in handy. I figured I'd tell y'all about my unit, since you asked. I recently got shipped to the 22nd ACR. Got separated from my old unit and linked up with them one day. Guess I grew on'em because next thing I know the Colonel hands me a set of transfer papers and showed me to my billet here in The [Redacted]. We're a pretty tight nit crew here, good leaders, good men. We do a bit of everything too, but our specialty is armored and mechanized fighting. Can't tell you much about that though. We've currently commandeered a few houses here, most of the civilians long gone, and the few that's left are decent enough folk. Farmers, like us. With Halloween coming up we decided to have a bit of a feast, they gathered up some stuff from the gardens, and the Colonel sent some of us on a 'patrol' where we accommodated a couple of deer and some turkeys. Takes quite a bit to feed a full unit , but God was it good. Reckon everyone had a right good time out of it, setting up tables out back of the town hall and all of us gathering to eat a good meal. Although I wish it was back home.
Well, I gotta go. Life of a soldier's never done I suppose. Send my love and congratulations to Jenny and Will. Can't wait to meet my nephew when I get back.

I prefer the darker one, because the light has poor contrast regarding the sky; you cannot see the clouds but do notice the shade difference. The light one also has issues with some kind of simultaan contrast (or whatever it is called in English) with the light grey and yellow. However, the light one has nice detail of the fence and the road, which may be preferable, depending what you trying to photograph
photography isn't just taking pictures, it is also photo editing. Maybe you need to try to cut parts of pictures, or make edits which only strike a part of the picture. Its a lot of experimenting (which I haven't done, I am no expert in that kinda stuff), but from a drawing perspective I can tell you with my heart, composition makes the difference.
That being said, I like that green barn door picture 😃
