Not really the books are pretty good. The lore is moving along at a pace that’s not too fast but not standstill. 8th ed is fun to play and GW is finally giving a nice amount of communication with the community. I’d say it’s better than 5th 6th and definitely 7th. The armies are for once balanced but it’s not perfect by any means.

This is the portfolio that got me the job here. Even though there isn't world war 2 art in it I always strive to present consistency across a portfolio. That way an employer knows I can hit a level of art..... the subject matter can be whatever my boss wants after that.

@tidal trench I do not do the texture work in game that is Anthony Adam and now Leon. All the texture work is done in a program called Substance Painter. After working on a piece of concept art I start working on the next piece. Drawing and painting for 8 hours a day XD.
With concept art 90% of your designs get rejected. It is a job of figuring out what works but more importantly what isn't right for the game. The majority of my effort is to help Mark figure out what 'feels' like Foxhole and then throw out what doesn't 'feel' correct. Every rejected piece of art helps you figure out the final correct design.

Just that Foxhole personally seems to fill in a sort of niche for me with the setting and theme/aesthetic
It's just fiction/fantasy enough, but is also really grounded
Like the damn cannons on the Westgate wall, in the concept and mood art for it, it has guns lining most of the wall, and in real life you see those types of things, but in the Foxhole world they're bigger than you'd expect
the Bulwark as well, it just feels kind of out there even though there's real world comparisons like the Hadrian wall

My advice is to look at the marching songs and patriotic songs of real nations during this time. They often are very personal, very reflective on their home and their feelings, the emotions they'd have going to war and remind soldiers of what they're fighting for. I'm not sure I saw the word fight in any of them. It's more about what you are fighting for, than the fact that you're fighting.

Cool! Although I'm warning you right now: That font is going to be very frustrating to read no matter how big you make it. Even the name of the newspaper was hard and I knew what it said.
Here's a newspaper on the funeral of George Washington. Notice how while the title uses that fancy font, the body of the story isn't that far off from what we use now.
Newspaper fonts have barely changed for a few hundred years now for a reason.
