Alight, since I need a new drawing tablet because the previous one died (now almost half a year ago), I stand for a difficult decision every digital artist has had to deal with: WhIcH oNe Do I pIcK???

Anyhow, I have brought my choice down to 3 tablets (damn they are expensive, poor student me). I am a mechanical engineering student, so I wont use it very much for my study, considering it will mostly consist of modelling and calculating stuff; it will be a hobby object.

But Turtle, why don't you take a cheaper one? I already had a cheap one in the past, but the quality was shit and was looking for something more precise considering my balpoint drawing style.

Anyway, to the point: I'd like to have some buttons on the pad so I don't have to do a multi task keyboard stuff/moving the pad to get the right angle (the first). However, the area is quite small and cornered, so alternatively I fond the second one, but it has poorer presure levels. Finally, I found the third one, which is hella expensive but feel like will fit my needs.

My questions are: 1. which one would you chose (or do you have a good alternative)? 2. does anyone have experience with the Wacom Intuos Pro "Tilt recognition"? 3. are these reliable? 4. do I overestimate buttons?

@pulsar grail the issue is with middle-grade drawing tablets is they rarely are aviable in good condition second hand; most are either low-grade ones, dropped because people upgraded, or super-grade ones from a provisional which cost over 1000 second hand

No, ofcourse, the thing that makes good drawings is the artist himself, not the equipment; as kid I made drawings in fucking Word 2000 or whatever it was

however, a good tablet means I have to do less redraws and have a higher quality output

imho what really counts when using things like this or things like cameras is that you know how it works. what it actually does, how it responds. knowing how your device reacts can save you a redraw. higher tier equipment still requires you to know what it does when you do things certain ways. you can overcome device limitations by knowing how it reacts, not by buying a higher tier one. which still will have quircks but different ones

i see lots of shitty photos taken by pro cameras, and good photos by shitty cameras. just know your device and your good

hm... Honestly, I'm not so sure that the rigging I do for foxhole is any interesting. Since the characters are so small in the screen, I get away with using some unreal rigging pluggins.
As for the non-character things like vehicle... they are pretty simple. I guess there might be some value there for someone starting into rigging, but not many of them are too complex.
