-Don't allow people to build FOBs/barracks in regions they don't have towns in. We have campsites, and CVs can just hug the borders of regions anyways so that requirement isn't really a dealbreaker for building FOBs in back regions.
-Don't allow free spawns at an HQ unless your team has majority towns in an adjacent region.
-Make trucks tougher and/or have a lower immobilization threshold.

@ebon quarry I like transport trucks as they are. If they were strong enough to drive through a clip of rifle bullets it would make partisan work a nightmare. The fact that they are weak forces escorts and makes gameplay more interesting.

The tank in it's current state in the game has a damage multiplier based on where you shoot it. Tougher on the front and weaker in the back. The truck definitely should not get a smoking engine from getting it's tarp shot.

There's solutions right now but it makes logi's lives harder and it skews this too far in favor of partisans. All it takes is 1 guy with a rifle or even a pistol to disable a truck on the side of a road. Completely unrealistic and requires almost no setup or coordination or teamwork on the partisans side to destroy 1000 bmats or 100 shirts or 10 boxes of howi shells.

if one partisan is a problem i'd say it's the drivers problem at that point, i've yet to have an issue with just one partisan taking out my truck.

I'd personally like it if trucks could actually be used as temporary cover for a roadblock or camp. Right now these giant metal machines either need to be protected if we need them.
Trucks should still be disabled but not with 4 shots, it should be durable against one person at least

as a logi it's more important to avoid enemies all together anyway. with good radio towers set up you can either wait and call out partisans or go another route.
i feel like 3-5 guys with a rifle should be able to take out a truck, you shouldn't have to have hmgs to take out trucks. especially with them being in on the tech tree
The game is configured right now for a small player base. If 2000 people were playing at the same time queues would be a nightmare
@random topaz Also as it stands it only takes a few shots to take out a watchtower. Really the only realistic means of protecting our backlines is building watchtower networks. 60 bmats per tower for every ~150 meters. Only takes a couple clips to take out a watchtower. If you argue that we need to just protect the backlines and don't worry about buffing trucks then the protections are pretty much just as fragile.

Watchtowers are like a warning. Though it would be nicer if they were more sustanable.
@warm ginkgo It takes 1/4 of the time to destroy all the watchtowers on your road as it does to build them. If you tradeoff health with build cost equally they're still just gonna get wiped at the same rate they're built; just makes the whole dance a lot slower, and it slows down the builder and makes it take longer for him to get back to doing real logi.
Every argument you guys are saying about the value of building the backline and how yadayada partisans are a good component of the game is a fine argument, but as it stands the partisans have way too high of a leg up on logi, which as it stands is frustrating and monotonous enough even without partisans.
it sounds like you have partisans not being dealt with then, not just partisans being a problem themselves. the only way watchtowers are useful is if someone will go and take them out. You'll just sit there building back and forth all day if the partisans do get taken out.
If you have a radio on you, you should passively update what you see...? Also allow us to update our maps at any tower
Watchtowers are a warning system. In backline areas you don't really see them being taken out repeatedly like that. In high war area you do and it is expected, there are always dangers going to frontline to supply them

@summer river We already have ways to counter-act partisans. Such as escorts and having a crew in the back. Though i feel more things could be introduced to make a good logi force partisans to take precautions.

Suggestion:
Add an additional cost to constructing armed vehicles like tech parts. (Field-MG, Halftrack, Field-Arty, Tanks)
Field-MG: 2 techparts + Mats
Halftrack: 5 Tecparts + Mats
Field-Arty: 10 Techparts + Mats
Tank: 15 Techparts + Mats
This would be a way to control the spam of vehicles in the game, because Tech-Parts are rather rare.
In Addition it would introduce another use for Tech-Parts even if your faction is done with the tech tree.
While the Tech-Tree is still going, you'd have to make a decision if a vehicle would be more benefical for
your team or if you'd rather use the tech to unlock something else.

@random topaz If you wanna say "oh just ride in convoys" again, nobody does that. Unless you wanna argue that we need to improve communication tools to solve partisans then you can't expect people to ride in convoys naturally.
Maybe have Bmats and Rmats as the research requirements, so these are material sinks. And as more and more of the vehicle type is built, the stronger the vehicle it gets.

With partisans (this is just my personal experience) you take them out and it grants you about 20-45 minutes until more or the same ones show up again. It's just something I expect. Watchtowers are just a kind of defense, just like foxholes. You don't expect a foxhole to take out 3-5 people for long if they keep showing up there do you? Why expect the same from a watchtower when they are around the same cost?
So a lvl one tank has poor capacity and is very slow, but can be built much earlier, also, they will have much less armour.
@limber tendon Already predicted earlier that people would suggest making logi lives harder for the benefit of the frontlines. Sure that'll turn away less dedicated people from building those things as much, but there will be people that still grind that stuff if it's critical and it'll just make the game less fun for them.

@random topaz It's not a matter of skill. It's coordination. That's the thing with this game is if you want skill-oriented solutions then you're on the wrong game; it's teamwork-oriented solutions. Partisans shooting logi trucks doesn't require teamwork and that's a problem.
For tanks i'd like different ammo types more than more tanks. Have HE rounds to take out weak defenses and infantry (less damage, more AOE), and AP rounds to take out other armor and stronger defenses (no AOE and high damage)
@summer river Maybe deception tactics could be introduced in some form. To make Logi more interesting and give partisans a challenge.

@summer river It's a reward for the partisans getting behind enemy lines and a big mistake for the front-line in letting them through. It's what the team deserved for not defending well enough and their inner supply lines become a mess. It forces the team to work together to fix the issue fast. which forces teamwork.

It's impossible to prevent anybody from walking into any region right now without having players all along the borders.

a barracks with no AI defenses would not work well against an enemy with a full map. it's already so difficult even with a FOB

downside i've experienced of the 'set' spawn point HQ on a map is when trying to attack another map. Get sent back to home island, and then gotta run all the way across the map again to get to the spot where you were attacking another map

@river hornet Because right now partisans try to target towns with refineries for HQs, which we can focus on protecting. If they can spawn whichever town they want it doesn't matter if they make another town an HQ; they can just spawn at the refinery town.

What if refineries were removed entirely, and you had to exchange mats at the portbases. If trains are ever implemented, people could throw the raw mats to be transported to the portbases .

While the game is in alpha, only the community can dictate the quality of the game play. Balances will not happen fast enough. nore can a mechanic to implement balance work right away.
The Clans, large and small, control the incentive and flow of all battle as well as the tone of conversation on public forums, in game chat, and the discord, they also can have a major effect on the starting team balance. Your non-clan average joe has little say in thingโs.
General behaviour on teamโs (clans need to be more helpful to new playerโs less toxic)
I think we can artificially control the flow of team balance till mechanical issue were worked through

i have a suggestion for new players against buildings! AT rifles (and yes, i still am trying). a good balance between mobility and dmage to light vehicles and buildings, a semi low damage but 2x more range than a HE, it will be a cheap alternative to the rpg, and a semi hitscan that can be useful to early game but a switch to rpg on late game because of better upgrades. main point: a cheaper, balanced compromise but a disadvantage against inf, so if vets want a more powerful boom boom item, they can just go sticky because it will be much better. or he, or rpg... BUT hey, i just want som trench roleplay and blitzkrieg weapons couse this game...tends to...snowball and a way to cheaply produce stopping weapons to kill build spam
