So I have this voip connection issue where my game not play my mic wouldn't play my sounds but when it does, my voice broken. My mic and voip has worked other games like this suck as Squad, Project Reality, and Post Scriptum where VOIP is essential. I need help. (EDIT): not only that when people uses the local voip, their voice is broken too. The game isn't lagging at all.

hi. i am issues with sound. i am using bluetooth headphones with no mic. a couple days ago, when I load foxhole, my sound becomes muffled, cuts out every 30 seconds, and I cant hear voice chat.

ive got the same problem with bluetooth. perhaps its headset vs speakers connection of bluetooth

Hey got a problem again yes its a AMD graphics card and foxhole will just keep crashing. I had a issue with FPS and the only way I could fix it was by updating my graphics card. is there anyway to fix foxhole without downgrading? If not is there a ETA on when the problem will be fixed so I dont have to downgrade to play foxhole

Dxvk has the issue of if foxhole ever implements a anti cheat you will be flagged for using dxvk so I would advise against it also I don't see that driver update fixing that bad of a performance issue it only gives about a 12% boost to 5700 cards most likely because of the new architecture usage in the driver

Max I can see is. 5 - 10 fps increase of the previous driver also that's dependent of the game as well foxhole might not ever reflect the 12% increase

Also dxvk converts calls from directx to Vulkan so the performance impact might just negate any performance changes to the driver

@ruby island for the FPS fix it actually did do a major fix at least for me, increased every game that literally wanted to stay on 20 FPS and then when I updated everything sky rockected past 80 FPS

actually you know what they know about the issue i have searched those games and one does in fact use unreal 4 engine the others do not say but i suspect they all use unreal engine 4 and amd knows there are issues

My sound now no longer works. I am using standard bluetooth headphones. When I run foxhole, when I minimize the game and open youtube and play a video, I get no sound as well. When I go to voice, and hit reconnect, i get 5 seconds of sound then nothing

I fixed my voice chat problem. Apparently the problem was I changed the default program to open mp3 files to windows media player. So, I changed it back to groove music. Idk why it causes me to don't hear in game voice chat but it fixed the problem

Hi everyone! I've been having some issues with the VoIP. I've tried deleting the local cache, steam cache, reinstalled Foxhole etc and the issue still persists. After War #45 the VoIP just stopped working. If I press T or G nothing happens. Even when I try to press the key for 'local' nothing happens. There is no symbol above my character and when I press the key for squad nothing happens.

All other games the headset works. Discord works fine as well. My headset is the Astro A20 Gaming Wireless if that helps. I've also tried using the default system settings in the Voice setting in-game but nothing works.

also another thing you can do is install gamemode (https://github.com/FeralInteractive/gamemode) and add gamemoderun %command% to steam launch options to help with performance

Hey guys, bought the game a week ago or so and only managed an hour before getting a fatal error crash on start.

Uninstalled and reinstalled, worked for a couple more hours, but the next start-up it got the fatal error crash.
Tried it again and now it doesn't start at all. I've tried verifying the file integrity and it comes back without any errors. Started it with my OC software turned completely off and it still won't start. Very frustrating for a game that I've only put three hours into.

Any advice or a place I can send logs to?

@knotty birch installing prereqs only look for missing DLL files but does not look for corrupted files foxhole uses xaudio2_7.dll for sound not sure if they use it exclusively but assuming outputs are correct the the game volume is up both in game and the audio mixer then you will probably have to validate windows files but opening admin command prompt and typing DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and restart after finishing this will make sure you have no corrupted files with windows past that make sure your gpu drivers are up to date with the exception of amd as only 19.12.1 works currently and also make sure you have the audio drivers downloaded for your motherboard that can be found on your laptops site if you have a laptop or your motherboards site if you use a external dac the drivers will not effect anything

Try disabling the sound device in device manager, then enable it, and make sure you set the default sound output device. And Bluetooth can cause problems

bluetooth should have no direct effect on the game all the game knows is what windows tells it and that would be the default device

The actual Bluetooth communication is hardware so anything transmitted is what windows as a whole makes available to applications so if it's effected in game it would be effected everywhere so it can't be hardware the other option is the game is messing with the driver setting and screwing up something which I don't see why the game would be doing that other then changing levels

Mac addresses should only be touched by layer 2 aka windows

Windows should handle the mac address and communication between hardware windows has libraries to tap into to use audio and that's what the game should be using

Or more specifically drivers should handle hardware and communication but windows auto installs the drivers usually

because lets say the amd driver says move this windows down one frame and it does it using its 'amd optimized' function now lets tell the basic driver to do the same thing it still has the hardware bandwidth there and its going to perform a standardized function that is "basic" so it will get the operation done in the same amount of time but just not "optimized" or what ever tweaks that the amd driver would do

the game does not send any more error logs there is no "[2] 2-5006" or "[8] 6" it just doesn't work

no whql means microsoft has "presumably" run the driver through a bunch of tests which consists of compute and graphical workloads of different games with all their actively updated oses and has signed the driver themselves and also they push the driver over windows update so if you have a device id matching the drivers supported devices the driver will be shoved down your throat whether you like it or not if you dont already have a driver installed satisfying the gpu or you go through a series of menus to disable automatic driver installing

it probably because they dont care anymore and just threw the driver into a vm with very controlled parameters where it would be quite tough to obtain results rather then testing with different hardware and changing parameters

lots of people have 2 gpus and install linux so they have 1 gpu for linux and 1 gpu for a windows vm to have the best of both worlds

yes there is a fix to get it to work with nvidia this week, if your virsh is new, and if they dont change the drivers yet again. theyve done it several times before using different methods to determine if it's a VM or not

@short temple it seems downgrading graphics with amd tends to leave behind files from the previous driver version if the only reason you are downgrading is for foxhole i recommend installing the latest optional driver from here https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-20-1-4

I would try setting it to a keyboard key just to make sure it's not the mouse causing the issue

I've had a lot of cheapo mice do weird things with mouse 3. I wouldn't say it's your mouse causing the issue with just this evidence, but I think from what you're saying the camera rotate works if it's not mouse 3, so maybe compare if it works with another mouse or not.

Restart your PC

then when i went on the front lines i could never get a kill or set up defenses because i always died trying

most of it was due to a lack of coordination between people

nobody wanted to defend me while setting anything up

and the defenses that were already setup were complete trash

literally in the back lines someone had foxholes covering the entire road around a base couldnt even get through with a truck

and it was added after we took it over

they were not even facing the correct way

so the game looked good and i got it but once i saw how defensive logi were with resources and how there is a lack of coordination i lost interest in the game
