the way subscribing works is you have 2 kinds of benefits

  1. permanent unlocks (usable post subscription)
  2. temporary unlocks (only usable while subscribed)

permanent unlocks would include:

  • access to all current story expansions available at the time the subscription ends
  • access to the current max level
  • a few others i forgor

so yeah, a boosted character (which just jumps you right to the most recent story expansion at max level) would still b usable
