I mean it depends on what you're looking to get out of the game. If you want story theres plenty. If you want pvp theres plenty of that around as well. For endgame you'll need to likely complete the story and reach max level before being able to participate. It may be a slog at times but if its something you want to do then you gotta chug along

if you are bored of the story, the best thing I can recommend is putting your current one on hold, creating a new character and trying a different one

the 8 base class stories are all unique and which ones you personally enjoy the most varies from player to player

if it's the gameplay, I would say the same except for changing your combat style rather than the origin story. A Lighter version of that could even be just swapping the discipline of your current character

also, to make the game more engaging, I would recommend not relying on companions to keep your hp topped up constantly while levelling. Try seapping yours to tank or healer. The game's story was not designed with a constant pocket healer in mind
