Does using ALT+ENTER readjust your screen resolution?
No it makes me go into windows mode
what resolution is your monitor / game supposed to be at?
resolution size/type and any scaling options graphics card/monitor would be things to change & test.
the reason I ask is because I have an ultrawide LG monitor and for some reason it can read a 2560x1440 resolution which is higher than the native 2560x1080 it is supposed to be. The Old Republic detects that and caused a stretched game for me except the UI elements looked normal like the screenshot above. Came across this issue with Assassins Creed Syndicate on my cousins PC and found a fix for it as well.

Basically had to DL a program that can modify your monitors resolutions and what not and had to delete the resolutions that exceeded the native monitors resolution, which fixed the issue for AC Syndicate and TOR for my cousin and I
Is there any option where u dont have to go in and manually create a new resolution for ur graphics card? I genuinely dont wanna mess around with that in case i fuck smth up
I tried tons of things to get my swtor to work on my ultra wide screen but none of them have done the trick so far, and one of them even made my pc freeze
Do we know if bioware is working on a solution for this issue? :(
your video card software app may have a presets section for games & apps?
I checked but i cant rly see anything like it
I found 1 fix that said to go into my nvidia 3D settings and change the dsr factors, which didnt work and made my pc freeze
I might try the custom resolution after all but maybe some time next week when i can just sit down and take my time with it
I have twin ultra wide monitors on my desktop setup and didn't need an extra program and have not seen this issue... are you sure the drivers for the video cards and LG's got it's own software in some cases properly installed and up to date ? Is it set in windows to the "recommended" settings? also if you have more than one monitor be sure you check the resolution settings for each
Tbf i have the same issue with drivers fully updated and settings set to recommended
hmmm wonder the difference my desktop is brand new win 10 with an AMD/ATI pairing
if i come across anything i'll share it
Ty! Appreciate it
yw
honestly not entirely sure, I initially had a gtx 1070 and the steam guide fixed the stretching for me. but not too long ago i upgraded to a rx 6700 xt and to dig the article back up to redo the steps I did the first time
Alright so, after playing around with my settings loads ive found that my ultrawide settings do work but only affect the UI and not the...idk...environment?
in other words my UI looks fine now, no longer squished/stretched, but the characters on the login screen and ingame still do, as does the environment
anyone know why?
swtor reads the edid info provided from the monitor , if this is wrongly displayed in windows , swtor uses the wrong information , the only fix is to correct the info provided
so changing monitors will also work .....
I havent tried the custom resolution thing yet cos honestly im not super tech savvy and im scared i’ll break smth
But is it normal that the UI is displayed at the correct resolution but the rest of the game isnt?
Before i played around with my settings everything was stretched out, UI included
It seems weird to me that my UI is fine now but the rest isnt, in my head it doesnt make much sense that those 2 dont go hand in hand
Even in my character window my character is stretched out
Preview window too
Despite the UI being correctly displayed
Its just so weird
is it normal answer is no , try a different cable method tothe monitor like displaycable instead of hdmi for example it may correct
i already tried that
if nvidia for example , you can look at the DSR to see if any effect , setting the native resolution only in cru should work though
dsr was mentioned in the reddit link
yeah i tried that too but that didnt make a difference aside from making my game freeze
game freeze is another sign of incorrect settings
yeah i figured as much there, but i followed the reddit guide step by step and it still messed up
if you are using HDMI cable try swapping to a displayport cable
