When I try to hit an enemy the game says "required effect not present" and wont let me hit, it also makes purple lightning around the lightsaber, can anyone tell me how do I fix this?

If “hit” means that you’re clicking on the enemy, then you’ll use the ability in the first slot of your main quickbar. In your case that would be Reaping Strike (the purple icon with the 1) which you can only use from stealth or when procced. Just use some of your other abilities by clicking on them (or using keybinds, whatever is easier for you), not the enemies themselves
